Computer Aided Design (CAD)Review

• CAD software has had a major impact on the drafting industry, which has made the manual drafting process obsolete.

• CAD software is relatively easy to learn and very cost- effective. Software allows viewing and modification of images from any angle (2D, 3D, etc.)

Tool Overview• The art of metal working has been practiced since

ancient times. The advance of technology in the use of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power has given us the ability to create more complex and durable products.

• Advancements have also removed much of the manual labor from the process and reduced project completion times.

Tool Overview (continued)

• Safety Awareness- Power tools give us the ability to work with raw materials like metal with precision and efficiency. However, we must be aware of the potential for injury and death if the user is careless.

• Always ensure you are trained to use tools properly, and use all required safety equipment (examples- eye protection, safety guards, grounded plugs, etc.).
