Definition:Manufactured construction is a process of producing either building components or complete building structures such as homes, excluding the foundation, in a protected factory environment.
Types Of Manufactured Housing:
MANUFACTURED HOMES Must meet U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements for their constructionMODULAR HOMESIs similar to conventional site-built homes and their manufacture is governed by state regulation
What is a unit or floor?A unit in manufactured housing or modular homes is called a floor during the manufacturing process. SIZE OF THE UNITBetween 8 feet and 16 feet wide and range in length up to 80 feet Is bound to Federal and state transportation restrictions
