1. getting started
power-upinsert two fresh AAA batteries.pay attention to plus and minuspoles.
set clockset time by turning knob A forhours and knob B for minutes.press any key to confirm and exit.
alarm clockpress sound + pattern. set alarmclock by turning A for hours and Bfor minutes.(disable by turningknob A all the way down.) pressany key 1-16 to set pattern for thealarm. to stop alarm press any key.
reset clockreset the clock by removing thebatteries and start over.
2. play
select patternhold pattern and press any keyfrom 1-16 to select pattern.blinking led indicates activepattern.
playpress play to start playing.press play again to stop.
sequencera pattern consists of 16 steps.
3. creating a pattern
select soundhold sound and press any keyfrom 1-16 to select sound.sound + 16 activates micro drum.
createpress write.rec symbol is lit on screen.enter sound/notes in grid.active steps will be lit.press play to listen to your pattern.
set notewhile write mode is active, hold alit step and turn A to set notevalue.
set lengthwhile write mode is active, hold alit step and turn B to set notelength.
4. tweak the sound
adding effects
while playing, hold style and pressany key 1-16 to punch-in effects.hold style without pressing any keyto clear effects
see reference on opposite page.
parameter locking
hold write while turning knobs towrite sound parameter changesover time.
5. tempo
press bpm to switch tempo. thebpm will be displayed in the upperright corner of the screen.HIP HOP (80 bpm)DISCO (120 bpm)TECHNO (140 bpm)hold bpm and turn B to fine-tunetempo (from 60 to 240 bpm).
6. volume
hold bpm and press any key 1-16to adjust master volume.
7. live record
while playing, hold write and pressany key 1-16 to punch in notes.notes will be quantized along withtempo setting. release write whenfinished.
8. play styles
add playstyleswhile playing, hold keyoo andpress any key 1-16 to punch inplaystyles, such as chords,arpeggios and transpositions.release write when finished. holdkey oo without pressing any key toclear playstyles.
9. making a song
(pattern chaining)
copy pattern
hold write + pattern and press1-16 to paste the active pattern tothe corresponding new slot.
clear pattern
press keyoo + pattern to clear theactive pattern.
chain pattern
press and hold pattern and selectwhich patterns 1-16 to chain bypressing the corresponding key1-16. up to 16 patterns can bechained. one pattern can beselected multiple times. example1,1,1,4 plays pattern 1 three times
then moves on to pattern 4. afterlast pattern is played the sequencewill start over again.
10. sync multiple units
it is possible to sync multiplepocket operators with its clicktrack using line in and out.connect a standard stereo audiocable between the units. themaster unit will control the tempo
of the slave unit.hold keyoo and press bpm onmaster unit to toggle sync modes.press repeatedly to togglebetween different modes displayedin the upper right corner of thescreen. press play on slave unit towait for master clock sync. pressplay on master to start.
sync modes
there are 5 sync modes. default
mode is SY0.when sync is used the signal willbe split between audio (right) andsync (left).
