STAFF SAFETY TRAINING COURSES MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING Why should I do it ? Under the provisions of the 2005 Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act and the 2007 General Applications Regulations where manual handling duties cannot be eliminated employees must be provided with instruction and training to ensure safe manual handling practices are carried out in the workplace. The course is of three hours duration and utilises full a multi- media presentation as part of an instructive and informative session. Course Agenda The course consists of four modules:- To highlight legal responsibilities of Employers and Employees To look at the anatomy of the spine and how it works To raise awareness about the risk of injury from manual handling of loads, however “harmless” the load appears To enable participants to understand and practice the use of correct lifting and manual handling techniques Course Certification All our instructors have completed an instructors’ course as designated by the guidelines issued by the Health and Safety Authority. On completion exam / assessment each successful attendee is awarded a Manual Handling Course Attendance Certificate and an overall certificate is issued to the company attesting to the fact that all the staff listed on the certificate have completed a Manual Handling Procedures course.
