Mangroves are a group of trees and shrubs that live in the coastal intentidal zone.

VARITIES

There are about 80 different species of mangrove trees. Benefits of mangroves

• Products vulnerable coastlines from wave action. • To hold the soil together and

prevent soil erosion.• Provides homes for several

species of plants and animals.

BENEFITS

• Buffer zoen between the land and sea• Good source of timber, fuel and

fodder• Potential source for reservation

and tourism.
