Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to everyone who came into school for Parents’ Evening this week. We hope
you found it informative and helpful to talk with your child’s class teacher and to look
through the books. This term, as always, the children and staff have been working
hard to ensure the best learning for all the children. If you were unable to attend
Parents’ Evening or if you have a query or concern, please remember that you can
have a chat with the class teacher at the end of the school day. Alternatively, the office
staff, Special Needs Co-ordinator or Headteacher may be able to help depending on
what your concern is. Next Friday (18th October) we have our Ofsted Coffee Morning
for parents. Please drop in to the Studio, any time from 9am – 11am. Lauren in Year 6
has done a wonderful poem about the Year 6 residential. It’s a great first step away
from home, trying out independence for a few days. As parents, it can be harder for
us, waiting and wondering at home. However, Lauren and all of Year 6 had a great
time. Full report and photos next week! Mrs Whitehead

Cross Country Report
On Thursday night the second cross-country
race of the season took place at Bishop Vesey
Scghool. With Year 6 on residential a younger
team represented Maney Hill, including
several children competing in their first race.
The boys went first and on a testing course,
and produced some great performances.
Charlie King (Y4) came in 12th place, ably
supported by Seb Wheeler (18th place). They
were followed in shortly after by Alfie Dixon
Sarem Rizwan, Joe Lowe and Jenson Sekhon-
O’Shea. Excellent debuts for five of the
runners involved.
The girls set off shortly after and acquitted
themselves really well, running in a
determined fashion over the 1 mile course.
The team of Rebecca Bye, Honor Fallows,
Layla Richards and Fiona Bai can be extremely
proud of their efforts, finishing close together
and with several runners behind them.
Thank you to all of the adults that came along
to support the children.
Mr Wigley
