WELCOME
Dear utility executive,
Metering, Billing/MDM America and the Water Meter Summit are concerned with one thing – helping you attain higher operational excellence as soon as you get back to your office.
We are focused on tangible results that will lead to your performance improving more quickly, with less hassle, fewer mistakes made along the way and while keeping your costs down.
How?The program is targeted at every stage of a utility’s needs for upgrading their distribution grid with smart metering, AMI and MDM technologies that are available for use today.
Every session is led by a genuine pioneer and expert in their field, and every session will provide you with tangible, best-practice templates that can be shared back at the office.
From building the business case to RFP management and planning deployments, through to real deployment case studies and advanced programs that leverage more business value from existing technology – whatever stage you are at in improving the distribution grid using smart meters, AMI or MDM technology, we have it covered.
We also understand travel and education budgets are tighter than ever for utility executives. To accommodate that:• Prices are decreased: We have dropped our prices by over 50% to under $500 for utilities that book their place
early – by January 27th • Best-practice templates provided: We promise to provide you with business templates that illustrate the best
practices and lessons you learn at the conference, so you can prove the value to your management and help you implement them when back in the office
Further improvements to our event include:• Better networking: Networking breaks are longer, providing you with more time to meet peers and explore the
technologies available to help improve your business today, on our diverse and bustling exhibition floor.• Proactive matchmaking: Our team, based in New York, are at your service to help create meaningful business
meetings between you and the vendors, clients or peers that you need to meet.• A better utility to vendor ratio: We’re committed to achieving a 50% ratio of utilities to everyone else at this
conference, so places for non-utilities may be limited. However we know it will ensure a more beneficial event for all.
In conclusion: Focused. Tangible. Results. This is what the event is about.
We hope you enjoy the new look and feel of Metering, Billing/MDM America and the Water Meter Summit.
Warm Regards,
Mark WalkerVP, North AmericaSpintelligent, LLCt: +1 (917) 826-7357 [email protected]

Co-located Event: Water Meter Summit 2012
Metering America is co-located with the 2012 Water Meter Summit. Water utilities are facing challenges on multiple fronts. Since most are municipality run, their budgets tend to be smaller so installing an AMI system is often a bigger hurdle to jump. Establishing standards is a key focus of the Water Meter Summit’s first day workshop. Building the business case, seamless deployment and operational excellence are the topics of Day Two. Download the program at www.meteringamerica.com/water (Remember, a Gold Pass allows you full access to both Metering America and Water Meter Summit!)

POWER UTILITY EDUCATION/PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Monday, March 12, 20129:00 am – 6:15 pm Registration Open
POWER UTILITY EDUCATION WORKSHOPS:Every utility is at some point in the lifecycle of moving to the smart grid and thinking about how to kick off the next phase of their rollout plan. This portion of the conference features content that is divided into workshops depending on which phase your utility is experiencing. Attendees will leave each workshop with a written, customized action plan for accomplishing that particular phase of their utility’s deployment. Workshop I: This workshop is for those utilities considering smart meter installation. The workshop will focus on how to garner both internal and external support for building a business case in favor of smart meters.Workshop II: Once approval to install smart meters has been obtained, the next steps include figuring out the meter brand to purchase, the software application integration, wireless carrier, and more. This workshop will provide information on how to best manage the RFP process and find the ideal vendor and installer when you are making key buying decisions.Workshop III: Attendees of this workshop have already made their smart metering buying decisions. Now it’s time to deploy the smart meter plan. That takes man hours, new staff and training on use of the new equipment. Discover best ways to implement a utility’s deployment plan and integrate network and software applications for collection of data from the smart meter.Workshop IV: This workshop applies to every phase of smart metering whether you are seeking customer support for smart meters, encouraging customers to save energy or leveraging the new data for new products and services. Customer engagement across the lifecycle – product development, pricing, segmentation, media, channels – is the key to successfully managing these changing dynamics.
