Identify Content• Inventory existing content

• Outline new content needed

Draft Architecture• Create draft architecture and navigation

labels for mockups

• Refer to Library of Approved Navigation Labels

• Determine how subsites will fit into program sites.

Create Graphical Mockups• All sites will go into an approved EERE Template

and the RedDot Content Management System• Create mockups of:

– Home page

– Sub-pages

– Any subsites.

Determine URL• Follow standards for domains and

file naming conventions and directory structure • All new sites must be on EERE's servers • The EERE Web Manager must approve any

exceptions.

Submit final navigation labels to the Web Template Coordinator, who will coordinate approval.

Phase III: Production• Create navigation and header graphics

• Prepare content for coding

• Code the site– All sites will go into the RedDot content

management system.

Ensure the following are completed:Coding assessment using QA checklistApplications not hosted on the central EERE

infrastructure undergo a security scan.

Phase IV: Approval & Site Publishing

• Schedule QAs through Web Template Coordinator– Technical– Template– Content– Search and optimization.

• Make changes based on results of QAs• Coordinate pre go-live tasks

– Redirects/bookmarks– Go-live date

• Send for Program review.
