We have ice winter every year!
Generally the ice winter is classified in 3 categories
• Mild ice winter Ice from the beginning of February to end of the March• Normal ice winter Ice from January to approx. 20 April• Severe ice winter Ice from half of December to beginning of May
2016 we have a mild ice winter – Ice situation 19 April
2013 - a normal ice winter – Ice situation 01.01.2013

2011Special time tables in February and March in the Quark. Crossings up to 20 hours.
In March only one crossing per day and mid March, no traffic for 2 weeks – No Ice breaker assistance available due to the severe Ice conditions in the Quark.
Ice situation affected the whole shipping industry and delays and cancellations.
