OSH UNIT

The OSH Unit is responsible for:-

a. The implementation and coordination of OH & S system and OSHA programmes for Headquarters and State/Regional laboratories

b. Expert consultation / Technical advice to government agencies, school and private sectors regarding:

• safety in laboratory,• chemical health risk assessment• management of dangerous chemicals/wastes


OSH MANAGER

The responsibility of the OSH Managers include (but not limited to):

• Overall in charge of health and safety of the laboratory• Documenting, implementing and monitoring management

programmes to achieve the objectives • Carrying out/supervising CHRA• Carrying out/ supervising monthly and annual workplace

inspections• Participating in internal audits• Identifying and recording non-conformities• Initiating preventive action to prevent non-conformities;• Undertaking corrective actions• Verifying effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions

such as careless, negligence of the existing work procedure, negligence of safety procedure, etc.

• Equipment Any incident related to the failure of the

instruments or laboratory apparatus such as instrument failure that effect the safety of workers, broken glassware, etc.
