Chapter 1
Introduction
What Is in This Chapter
This chapter describes the SPECTRUM Management Module for the ADC Kentrox DataSMART DSU/CSU device. It also provides the model type name assigned to the Kentrox DataSMART in SPECTRUM. The model type name refers to the template used to specify attributes, actions, and associations for device models in SPECTRUM.
ADC Kentrox DataSMART DSU/CSU Management Module
The Kentrox DataSMART Management Module manages Kentrox devices using the SNMP network management agent and the Management Information Bases (MIB’s) included with the management module. The model type name for the Kentrox DataSMART DSU/CSU is DataSMART_NE.
DataSMART_NE
: a data and channel service unit that provides SNMP traps, telnet, and ping support to facilitate in-band network management.
