For private circulation only MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (MDP) ON 'HEDGING OF CURRENCIES' A s part of our collaborative learning initiatives with NSE Academy of National Stock exchange (NSE), an MDP on "Hedging of Currency Exposures" was organised in the campus ON 6 th December 2019. Mr. Aravind M., the seasoned professional in Financial I n recognition of the completion of 10 years of service at Bhavan's, three of our staff members Smt. Omana, Smt. Kanchana & Smt. Sarada were honored in the felicitation ceremony organized in the campus. Our Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Rajagopala Nair gave away the gift of love on behalf the Management. Volume : 3 Issue : 6 Dcember - February 2020 Markets and the Founder & CEO of Cygnus Consultancy Services was the Resource Person. The session was attended by Senior Level Executives from different corporate houses, Export- Import industrialists as well as bankers attended the programme. SESSION ON CYBER SECURITY M r. Steve Phillips, Cyber Security Communications and Awareness, ITV, USA, had visited the campus to offer a session on Cyber Security Awareness. He explained about the nuances of c y b e r security and its practical implications in today's Cyber World. SERVICE AWARDS Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Rajagopala Nair was the invited expert for a session on Career Guidance at Universal College, Mannarkad, Palakkad. He also inaugurated the Commerce Association of the college on the occasion. ACADEMIC EXTENSION ACTIVITIES Our member of faculty Mr. Girish S. Pathy was the invited resource person for a session on 'Introduction to R' in the workshop on 'Empowering the Researcher in you with R', organised by VT Bhattathiripad College, Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad. Our Faculty member, Dr. Deepa Unnithan was the invited resource person for a workshop on Case study methods for the students and faculty members of Girideepam Business School, Kottayam. Mr. Girish S. Pathy presented a paper at the 3 rd IGPC - IIM-A a n n u a l conference - Gold and Gold Markets. Our faculty members in the area of Marketing, Dr. Deepa Unnithan and Mr. Girish S. Pathy presented a research based case study titled - "Masstige Positioning : The Oneplus way for Apple Amaze owners?" in NICOM 2020 (Nirma International Conference on Management) at Nirma University, Ahmedabad. The case study was published as a book chapter in the book titled - "Customer, Competition and Marketing Strategy" (Excel Publishers) Our team with Prof. (Dr.) Biju Varkey-IIM A at KMA annual management convention. Our team participated in the Budget Analysis conducted by Malayala Manorama. FACULTY PRESENTATIONS & PUBLICATIONS A workshop was organized on 'Commodities Market', in association with the Hindu Business Line The MBA students got an opportunity to learn the concept of commodity markets in a practical manner. Shrikant Koundinya, Asst Vice-President - Training and Education, MCX, led the workshop as Resource Person. He pointed out that commodity market has been set up for hedgers, who try to minimise price risk and the exchange guarantees contract. The students of 2018-20 batch had a day ofexceptional learning on Entrepreneurship at
Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). The officials explainedto them in detail about the mission of the organizationand its activities for entrepreneurial development inthe state. They interacted with Entrepreneurs andaccelerators who shared experiences and insights onbusiness formation. In the Fablab, students wereexposed to the digital art of fabrication being usedfor creation and prototyping.

MoU WITH GST CENTERThe first-year MBA studentsof Bhavan's Royal Instituteof Management had anindustrial visit to the Athanidivision of KAMCO Ltd., on11th December 2019. SmithaRajappan and AswathyMohan, Asst. Professors,Bhavan's B-School,accompanied the students to the plant. The Athanidivision is mainly concerned with assembly of partsinto products such as power tillers. After the factoryvisit, the faculty and students had an interactivesession with the HR manager, Mr. Vijayakumar, whoexplained the administrative functions of thecompany.

Swami BodhanandhaSaraswathi, an Indian
spiritual leader and teacherof meditation, Yoga andVedanta and the Founder,Chairman of Sambodhfoundation in India spoke tothe students on Leadership Excellence and Power ofSoftskills. His session was extremely enriching andinteractive and encouraged management students tocontemplate contradictory challenges around us- toeradicate poverty, illiteracy and illness; to developinfrastructure; and to create an entrepreneurial mind set.
