HE.NET Managed Security Service This service can prevent some unwanted traffic from reaching the customer’s equipment, by using packet filters, defined by the customer, on the Hurricane Electric core router handling the customer’s traffic. This can also reduce potential congestion of the customer’s connection. Packet filters can block or allow traffic by specific ports, protocols, prefixes, and IP addresses. Hurricane Electric will work with the customer to create and configure the packet filters in advance. This service is preventive, not reactive (updates are not instant). The HE.NET Managed Security Service is available to Hurricane Electric IP Transit customers at any of our global points of presence. https://he.net/ip_transit/ Note: BGP customers can also create a [free] “Customer Blackhole Community” to block all traffic to specific customer IP addresses or ranges. This automates much of the nullroute process.
