According to reports, an outbreak of cholera occurred at the 1892 Mela at Haridwar .

1954

During the 1954 Kumbh Mela stampede at Prayag, around 500 people were killed, andscores were injured.

2001

In 2001, the Kumbh Mela was held in Prayag, aka Allahabad. 70 million people hadattended and 40,000 reported missing.

2003

When the Kumbha Mela was held in Nashik, India, from July 27 to September 7, 2003,39 pilgrims (28 women and 11 men) were trampled to death and 57 were injured.

2007

More than 30 million people visited Ardh Kumbh Mela at Prayag.

2010

Haridwar hosted the Purna Kumbha mela from Makar Sankranti (14 January 2010). 40million people has attended and at least 5 people died in a stampede after clashesbetween holy men and devotees.
