ManshiRT Server setup

Extract manshiRT.zip to a folder say "c:\Program Files\ManshiRT" folder and run ManshiRT.exe. The

following explains the mandatory setup. For detailed server setup, please look into the relevant sections

in this document.

Click on settings. It will open Setting dialog box. Select Accounts tab and provide your Yahoo and Google

account details. Please note these details are mandatory for the server to work correctly. You can

modify the default watch list symbols using “Watch List” tab. List of NSE symbols are available in Nse-

SymbolList.csv file. If you are behind firewall and proxy authentication is required, please provide the

details in the Proxy tab.

Amibroker Database Setup

This setup is only required if you want to fill RT data to Amibroker and is not mandatory if you want to

use the ManshiRT for viewing real time tick quotes only.

1) Copy manshiRT.dll from the ManshiRT folder to the Ami Broker plug-in directory. Suppose if Ami

Broker is installed in "C:\Program Files\AmiBroker", copy ManshiRT.dll to "C:\Program

Files\AmiBroker\Plugins" directory

2) Start AmiBroker. Please note there will be a warning that the data provider (ManshiRT.dll) is not

signed. This is expected as the data provider is not signed yet. Please accept it to proceed

further.

3) Create a new database and configure it to use ManshiRT as per the steps numbers 4 to 8

4) Click "File->New->Database" menu. It will open the following dialog box

5) Modify the database location folder to your desired location eg "C:\Program

Files\AmiBroker\ManshiRT" in the database folder text box.

6) Click Create button. The dialog box will be transformed to the following form:

7) Modify Datasource to ManshiRT and other values as marked in the above picture

8) Click OK to complete the database creation

Viewing Real time Quotes

The following gives quick steps to add the symbol into the Amibroker and the ManshiRT Server watch

list for real time viewing.

1) Add stock symbol into the Amibroker database: Symbol->New. In the dialog box displayed add

the NSE symbol of the stock: e.g. ITC.

2) Add stock to the watch list. If the ManshiRT server is running its status should be OK in Green

color. Right click on OK and select Configure from the popup menu. It will display the configure

dialog box given below

3) Add Symbol Name in the Symbol text box, select Exchange name from the exchange combo and

click on Add Watch. Add as many symbols as required and finally click on Close.

4) Alternatively, the multiline-watch text box can be used to update or add the watch list. It takes

watch list in “Exchange:Symbol” format e.g. “NSE:ACC”. Multiple symbols can be added in

multiple lines. Click on Update Watch List button to save the watch list.

Troubleshooting Real Time Quotes

Question: I am not getting quotes. What is the issue?

Answer : Please make sure that the ManshiRT server is running and the RT Ticker tab is displaying the

real time quotes. If you are behind firewall, provide proxy authentication details in the proxy tab of the

ManshiRT server. If you are directly connected to internet or proxy authentication is not required,

uncheck the “Enable Proxy Server Usage” checkbox.

Please note, real-time quotes are displayed only during market hours. If you want to test the ManshiRT

Server during off market hours, check “Enable Off Market Tick” in the general tab of the setting dialog

box. Make sure to disable it after testing is over; otherwise these ticks will be added to the AmiBroker

database. However, these ticks can deleted from the Amibroker database using quote editor in the

symbol menu.

Question: I am quotes but not in real time mode or backfill is not working for me. What is the issue?

Answer : Make sure the Yahoo and Google account details provided are correct

To view real time quotes in AmiBroker, add the symbol in the ManshiRT watch list. Also make sure that

the stock symbol has been added to the Amibroker also and the stock name in Amibroker and ManshiRT

watch list should match. There are two ways to add a symbol to watch list : using Amibroker plug-in

Configure option and ManshiRT Server watch list tab of the Settings dialog box.

Intraday History Backfill

To backfill intraday history for a symbol, select Backfill menu from the ManshiRT popup menu.

It will open the Backfill dialog box. Select the stock symbols and the number of backfill days required.

Maximum of 10 days intraday history can be backfilled. Please note backfill uses considerable network

bandwidth is suggested to be used judiciously. If you need only data for the last session or the running

session only, please select back days as 1 only.

Retrieving History from ManshiRT Server

ManshiRT server stores stock history when the server is running or when the history backfill is done. Thisdata can be retrieved using History menu in the ManshiRT popup menu.

In the dialog box displayed, select desired date and symbols and click GetHistory button. Note that the

history will be retrieved only if it is available with the ManshiRT server.

FAQ

Question – How to delete ManshiRT History for a symbol.

Answer – The ManshiRT History DB is located in the directory named DB/Intraday in the ManshiRTinstallation directory, unless it has been specifically specified in the Manshirt.xml file. Stop the ManshiRT

server and delete appropriate DB file.
