As I have mentioned in past letters, we did amazingly well on our first run through PARCC, last year. Our scores were so much better than I had anticipated for the first run through a brand new test and new testing platform. SAC Needs Your Help!

2 Positions Available on SAC

What does the SAC do? SAC works with C2E administration to adopt the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) that addresses goals and objectives for improvements in education at C2E.

SAC reviews the schools testing data (ie: I-Ready and PARCC) to help offer recommendations to the C2E Administration for ways to keep striving for excellence in all of the core fundamental educational elements of reading, math, writing, science and technology.

SAC also focuses on safety at and around the school! Safety is top of mind for administration and parents.

Who is the School Accountability Committee (SAC)? The SAC is a committee comprised of seven voting members: three elected parent representatives, one PVA parent representative, our principal or designee, one teacher representative and one community representative.

When do we meet? The SAC meets one morning a month at 8:00 am. All meetings are open forum.

There will be (2) Parent Vacancies for the 2016/2017 School Year and elections will be held this Spring. Parents who are interested need to complete the “Letter of Intent to Run” and either submit it to the front office or email it to [email protected].

We will be voting in our new members at our next meeting April 21st, 2016 at 8:00am in the C2E Conference Room.

The “Letter of Intent to Run” must be submitted to the SAC on or before the end of business day April 15th, 2016.

Can you believe there are only 3 months of school left – where has the year gone?! The PVA is so proud to work with our parent volunteers. It’s been a wonderful year with so many successful events for our children. Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 to make-over our library and continue bringing 21st Century Learning to C2E. We are currently at just over $35,000 from our fundraising events, donations, and direct giving! Thank you for all your support.

Now it’s time to say thank you to the amazing staff, families, and parent volunteers at our school! The PVA is partnering with C2E’s Science Department to celebrate the

S.T.E.A.M. Fair coming up in May. Details about this end of year celebration will be posted on Facebook and the PVA website soon. Please look for volunteer opportunities on the PVA website and see how you can help us promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Many of the tasks are not huge time commitments and can be completed at your convenience...after work, weekends, etc.

Kindergarten Buddy Day is Friday, April 15th. This is an amazing opportunity to welcome new families to our school and invite them to learn about what makes C2E so special. We are looking for parent volunteers for set-up, clean-up, and crafts. Please email me at [email protected] to see how you can help.

Our final PVA Meeting for this school year is Tuesday, May 17th, right after carpool from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Please join us for snacks and coffee to learn more about the PVA and how you can get involved. The PVA will have several positions available next school year so fill out your application and submit it today! Visit the PVA website for details. We will be voting and announcing the PVA board for the 2016-2017 school year and we need your support.

Please visit the PVA website for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities at https://sites.google.com/site/c2epva/home.

Spring is on the way! Well we hope so anyway. Friday, April 1st, we will be having a Garden Party for our next teacher/staff luncheon. Please note that this is also the Parent/Teacher Conferences date and a half day at school. We will serve finger sandwiches, veggies, and soups. Google “Garden Party” and be inspired!

Boxtops/Labels for Education

April Contest: Friday, April 1st, to Friday, April 29th

We will be having our Spring Box Tops/Labels for Education contest during the month of April, so start cutting and saving those Box Tops and Labels for Education NOW!

Prizes will be awarded to the top collectors and classrooms! The student who brings in the most items will earn a $20 gift card, and the class that brings in the most items will win a class party! There will be winners for both Elementary and Middle School.

Did you know that by collecting Box Tops and Labels for Education, you’re helping C2E to purchase much needed school supplies and equipment? This is an easy way to contribute to your school. C2E earns 10 cents for each one and it adds up quickly! Last year we raised over $2,000 for C2E! We collected over $900 with the Fall Contest so we are on target to get close to $2,000 again this year!

Please Note: The collection sheets used for the last contest made counting so much quicker and easier and therefore we will be using them again for our April contest. Download and print your collection sheets using the link below. The Box Tops MUST be cut out and please make sure they are not expired. Please use the collection sheets labeled with your child’s name and teacher. The Labels for Education can come in a baggie labeled with your child’s name, grade, and teacher.

Please be sure to check your Box Tops/Labels for Education and discard all expired items. Expired items CANNOT be accepted.
