DEFINE YOUR PROBLEM STATEMENT
Child growth monitoring Malnutrition is an important problem globally as well as in India. It has
been one factor directly or indirectly contributing 55% mortality of children under-five years of
age. There is an urgent need of technological interventions to come up with effective solutions to
monitor the childs growth in the age group of 6-36 months by non-invasive or minimally
invasive methods to be used by nurses, health volunteers, ASHA workers etc.
Problem statement: Provide a Smart solution to monitor growth of children in order to check if
the child is malnourished (and level of malnourishment) or not.
SOLUTION-
India is one of the countries where there are lots of cases of malnutrition. There is no
such tool for monitoring the growth of malnutrition among the children between ages of 6-36
months. Malnutrition Monitoring Program Portal (MMPP) acts as a tool which can monitor
the childs growth and can detect the possibilities of malnutrition with it. We have proposed an
effective solution to provide a regular reminder to under nutritional childrens via Popup
message, IVRS call reminder, and online web login portal.
Due to Illiteracy and Undereducated, most of the peoples are unaware of problems related
to malnutrition in new born babies. MMPP will act as an awareness tool and can spread
messages, health tips to pregnant women and her childrens to make both of them healthy. This
approach will help the parents to monitor their childrens growth and feed necessary medicine to

them on time as prescribed by Doctor. When a patient who is under nutrition visited to a
doctor for treatment. Doctor suggested the check up and different tests to be carried and
found that the
patient is nutritional. Related prescription was given to the patient accordingly. This prescription
was stored to database by ASHA & other volunteer with details of the patients, medicine
prescribed, no. of doses, timing of dose etc. the database software will provide the information or
popup message on mobile phone or caretaker can directly access through online portal.
The regular attention towards the disease will increase by effective use of MMPP &
ASHA, resulting in decreased % rate of Malnutrition and make child healthy. The specific
schedule of diet as well as medicines has to be fallowed. In case of childrens below age of 5
years, their parents will be their caretaker. To fallow the medicine schedule, MMPP will act as a
reminder.
This project can be used for all such critical diseases where special care needs to be taken
by the patient or his/her caretaker. It is often very difficult for the doctors to keep a record of
their patient. MMPP will maintain a database of patients health with the help of ASHA
volunteers. This report can be accessed by Doctor whenever required, by using login ID and
Password. This information will be very beneficial for the Doctor to do further treatment.

The partial hardware circuit was designed, assembled and tested as a part of MMPP last month. This circuit is use to generate a reminder call to a patient if the medicine counter is equal to zero 0 and if the patient already taken his/her medicine, then save the updated data in database and start next medicine counter (if any).

child.
To reduce the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropout.

It can also be linked with PM DIGITAL INDIA Plan i.e. Online Registration System
(ORS).
It can also be linked with PM DIGITAL INDIA Plan i.e. Dig locker (A Digital India
Initiative) with the help of our MMPP.
Easy access of Report for Patient, Caretaker and Doctor.
Regular assignment and guidance by concerned and experienced doctors around the
