Dear Parents and Friends, State Schools Spectacular. Our second rehearsal went very well. Our students did a great job of maintaining their energy levels for the day. The aſternoon was hard work because we were learning the choreography that we have to do for some of the songs which meant we had to watch the choreographer and the choir conductor and sing and move all at the same me! It is a pleasure taking our students out and about as their behaviour is outstanding. We have two more rehearsal days coming up and then the performance on Saturday 12th September. The show is always spectacular. All the performers and musicians are students from the public educaon system– a great way to showcase the incredible talent that exists in our public educaon system. If you have never been to watch a State Schools Spectacular show I hope you will consider buying ckets and coming along to support our students and to enjoy the fabulous show. Pets vising our classrooms. It is always excing when pets visit our classrooms and we know our students love to share their much loved pets with their classmates. To ensure the experience is going to be a posive one you must always arrange a me with the classroom teacher to bring the pet in. Lunch orders. We are very lucky that Kate and Kylie offer lunch orders to our students. Please do the right thing and have your order in on me. It causes confusion when parents contact Kate and Kylie directly to put in a late lunch order. All orders must go through the school as we need to have a record of which children have ordered lunch to ensure we are delivering lunches to the right children. Conjuncvis. We have had one case of conjuncvis reported to us. If your child has a discharge from their eyes please have it checked by a doctor as a child with conjuncvis must stay away from school unl there is no discharge from their eyes. Priority Review. Our school has been selected by DET to have a priority review. A priority review means we will have an independent reviewer work with us at school to see if there are any addional supports or changes that could be made so we are beer supporng all our students to achieve their best. Our review days are in November and our reviewer will be here over four days to meet with parents, staff and students and to analyse our school data before wring a report outlining their findings and recommendaons. I will keep you informed as I learn more about the process. Warm regards, Carolyn Tavener. Malmsbury PS OSHC. Next week Zoe starts a four week teaching placement at Castlemaine Secondary College. Our OSHC service will continue as we have people who are able to run it for us. Grounds Maintenance Roster. Thank you very much to Sharon for cleaning the drink troughs and Leilani for spreading much. You can come up to school to do a job from the roster any time that suits you. The aim of the roster is to re-duce the need for working bees or to pay someone to come and do our yard maintenance. Working togeth-er we can keep our yard safe and looking neat. ► If you are working up a ladder e.g. clearing

leaves from gutters, you must have another person there with you to hold the ladder.

► If you can’t do your week, you must arrange a swap with another family and let the school know who you have swapped with and what date you now have on the roster.

► When you have completed one of the jobs, please let the office know so we can cross it off our list.

Thank you for helping our school to look cared for.

LEARNING, SHARING, GROWING TOGETHER

Some list poems from Grade 3/4.

We have a little burger shop,

It really is quite nice.

You will always want to stop,

And there’s also a box of mice!

Cocoa, mocha, chocolate custard,

Apple pie spread with mustard,

Watermelon, tomato and falcon,

String beans, yoghurt and an album.

We can drop your food to you,

We’re very quick and fast,

We might stop and say “Boo!”

On our way past.

By Isha and Erin.

Super dooper, trooper trooper’s animal shop.

It is very topsy turvey.

But if you make a stop,

Prepare to have a survey.

Winged pigs, ring ligs,

King kongs, big logs,

Cheetahs, reetahs,

T-rex, spinosaurs, lineosaurs.

Triceratops, lollipops, black panther,

Santa and a cow.

We hope you come to our shop,

It is open everyday.

So you can always make a stop to say

Hooray!

By Tobe and Eddie.

I have a little ice-cream shop,

It really is quite nice.

If you want you can come

And have some flavoured ice.

Marshmallow, apple pie, smelly cheese,

Nutella toast, lamb roast, honey bees.

Pet fleas, chicken teas, orange bumps.

Lemon, berry, monkey mumps.

Funkey humps, jumping beans,

Fabulous flips, bug beans.

I hope you come to my ice-cream shop.

By Eliza.

We have a little farm,

It really is quite cute.

It has a lot of charm

And is as small as a boot.

Chook, spider, pigs,

Donkeys, roosters, wigs.

Cows, sheep, goats,

Castles, dragons, moats.

Birds, cats, dogs,

Toads, fish, frogs.

We have a little farm.

It’s often quite near.

It really is a charm,

It’s always right here.

By Natalie, Rosie and Molly.

LEARNING, SHARING, GROWING TOGETHER

Some list poems from Grade 3/4.

I have a crazy zoo,

There’s lots of things to look at.

Some animals are new,

Some animals you can pat.

Tiger, koala, snake,

Hippo, giraffe, cake.

Fish, bird, platypus,

Crab, yabby, catapus.

T-rex, dog, cat,

Bug, lion, hat.

I have a crazy zoo,

There’s lots of things to look at.

Some animals are new,

Some animals you can pat.

By Kiara.

I have a pet store,

It is quite a treat,

And you might grow big feet.

It sells dogs, cats,

Bogs, rats,

Honking hats and tipped tats,

Crying crats, smist smats,

Wrong rats and triple trats,

Slorking slats, triple cats,

Massive bats, tiny drats,

Coco clats, birds and bats,

Cattering cats, cranching crats,

Slotting slats, srag srats,

Chinese chats,

Mice and rats,

Frogs and cats.

That’s my pet store.

Oh drats! Not much rats in crash.

By Sam. I went to a pet shop,

I saw a cat and didn’t stop.

Ugly dogs, cute cats,

Chubby rats.

Hamsters chasing rats.

Hamster tasting ducks,

Funny chicks eating chicken chips,

Goats cleaning clicking hands

Horses bucking the clicking goats,

Lion hunting for a cook,

Chooks fighting with a chook,

Rabbits biting a sheep that was cheap.

See you there,

With a pear,

Hope you like

My little shop,

Have a stop.

By Shaylee.

I drove past a pet shop,

I didn’t really want to stop,

Then I heard a big plop by the summer beach.

I went in and had a look and then I saw a goat eat-

ing a book.

I looked around, I saw a chook and he was reading

a chook cook book.

Sheep pooing everywhere,

I wondered why they go there.

Crocodiles clacking around,

Making an awful sound.

I wondered why they run this place,

It is like it’s run by a clown.

By Mia and Cameron.

There was a pig,

And he was big,

He wore a wig,

He did a jig,

He ate a fig,

There was a BIG, BIG pig!

By Conor and Brandan. (and they sang their poem

to the grade. It was very entertaining.)
