Theclimateiswarmyearroundanddeterminedbythemonsoons.Themonsoonsaremildandnotasdefinedasinneighboringcountries.ThenortheastmonsoonstartsinJanuaryandgoesthroughtheendofApril.InJanuaryandFebruarythecurrentscanbeverystrongbutthebiganimalactivitycanbefantastic.ThebeginningofJanuarybringsclearwatertomostofthearea,whichcanbeover150feet visibility. Underwater visibility in the Maldives is determined by the tidal movements withincomingandoutgoingtides.Themonsoonpatternshaveasignificantimpactonthediving.FromMaytoOctober,thesouthwestmonsoonbringsmorerain,windandbiganimalaction.MantasandWhaleSharkscanbeseenyear-round.Therearenocyclones intheMaldivesbecauseofbeinglocatedattheEquatorlevel.Diving iscarriedout froma"divingdhoni” thatwillnotanchorbutwill followthedivers fromthesurface. This is the safest andmost comfortableway to dive in theMaldives due to thewind andcurrent.Everydiverwillhavehisownseatandhisownbasketwherehewillstorehisdivinggear,which will always remain on the diving dhoni.
