decided to do this film and started the work for the film. Many "bad omens" surfaced in this period, the flight he was supposed

to travel to Mumbai to select the hero of the film was hit by a bird and was cancelled. There were continuous problems in the site of the film. Heroine fainted under a tree during the shoot.

The story begins in 1954, when the French, the colonial rulers were packing off from Mahé, after 230 years, leaving behind remnants of a cultural history.

Those, who considered themselves as belonging to Francophone culture, jumped onto the first available vessel to France.

Alphonso ignored the repeated pleas of his wife, Maggi to leave the land. The arrival of their son, Michael, from France revived hopes of a life without

poverty, but Michael went back, leaving behind counterfeit gold and plunging the Alphonso family in deeper debts. Daughter Elsie's affair with Sasi became

a local scandal.Alphonso decided to leave, but the decision hung in the air. Alphonso looked

around in the realization that he cannot tear himself away from Mahé and the river to which he belonged. Mahé was within him even in a society, where

he had no reason for the sense of belonging.

Chandrakumar, son of a rich man in Trivandrum is kidnapped by the villain Bhoothanathan to Ceylon. The efforts of his parents to find him do not

succeed and Chandrakumar is brought up as a labourer in an estate. The estate owner, who is British, takes a liking to him and in time, Chandrakumar

rises to the post of Superintendent. At this time Jayachandran, a distant relative of Chandrakumar happens to come to Ceylon. Incidentally, he is

robbed of all his belongings by Bhoothanathan. Stranded, he gets acquainted with Chandrakumar and they become close friends. They come to

Thiruvananthapuram where Chandrakumar's sister falls in love with Jayachandran. Meanwhile Bhoothanathan attempts to kidnap her and the

duo's timely intervention saves her. A scar on the back reveals Chandrakumar's identity which eventually leads to the happy reunion of the

family.

Vigatha Kumaaran

The story revolves around the unnatural death of a young girl in a small village in northern Kerala, in late 1950s. Although it was claimed by her in-

laws that she died after she had a seizure, examination of the body revealed it to be a case of murder. The police charged three locals with the murder, only to be released by the court which described the prosecution's case as flawed.

With no further investigation, the case had, since then, gone cold over the years, eventually acquiring the status of an unsolved mystery.

Around 52 years later, Haridas a detective living in New Delhi, sets out on a journey to the villege hoping to solve this mystery. Apparently, he was born in

the same village on the same night when the woman was killed. Most of the clues and knowledge of Balan Nair and Keshavan lead him to

zero in on Ahmed Haji(Mammootty), a cruel feudal landlord. It was obvious why his name did not figure in police reports from that era; he was so

powerful and influential at that time. Slowly, as things become clear, Haridas deduces the truth.

Maya was a spoiled child of a rich man. Along with her friends, she decides to make fun of a Dr. Srinivas . The doctor in turn

insults her saying that she is a fatherless child. Maya discovers that her father had adopted her when she was baby and her

biological mother was K. S Vasundhara Devi , famous singer. She tries her every bit to make her mom accept her. Finally her

mother accepts Maya, but before she make this news to public, Vasundhara Devi is murdered by her administration employees

for her wealth. Maya kills her mother's killers and she is sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. Srinivas marries her, while

she undergoes sentence in Jail.

Roshan is a cosmetic surgeon and a Casanova by nature. Abu a budding filmmaker and Joe a TV show producer, are his friends. Joe has just been ditched by his girl friend Ann .A devastated Joe heads over to Goa along with his friends to get over the tragedy that has befell him. At Goa, Roshan and Abu have a merry time with "spice girls" Alice

and Sania .while Joe stalks Ann who has arrived at the beach town as well with her new boy friend Peter . Meanwhile Joe falls for Anjali, a hotel receptionist, and he

decides to stay in Goa even after his friends leave for Kochi.After all the adventure, Roshan and Abu, on their way back to Kochi, receive a phone call from the "spice girls" informing that one of them is an AIDS patient and by now

either Roshan or Abu will be infected. They inform that they did this not out of sadism but was taking revenge on Roshan who had ditched their best friend Anita George

who turned into a lunatic after the breakup and committed suicide.When Roshan finds everyone moving away from him, he feels very lonely and decides to commit suicide. However, in the final scene, it is shown that the whole Goa episode

was a trap planned by Maya, Abu and the spice girls to prove Roshan the value of relationship.

The film is about the inexplicable love between two girls, Sally and the meek and tradition-bound Nirmala. The two girls run away during a

school trip in order to punish their teacher Devika who organised the trip. Their journey is soon interrupted by a man, Harisankar, who mysteriously befriends the girls, while Nirmala starts to develop

romantic feelings for Harisankar. Sally strongly objects to this relationship and warns her friend against the suspicious nature of the man. Nirmala, who was almost convinced to leave everything behind

to be with the man she loves, gets a shock when she finds out that the man was actually in love with the teacher whom she despised and ran away from. Unable to find a way out of the misery that befalls them,

Sally and Nirmala cling on to each other and commit suicide.
