Transcript of MALACHI #4 - HOW HAVE WE WEARIED HIM - PTR ALAN ESPORAS - 10AM MORNING SERVICE
Malachi 2:10-17
10 Have we not all one Father? Has
not one God created us? Why then
are we faithless to one another,
profaning the covenant of our
fathers?
Malachi 2:10-17
11 Judah has been faithless, and
abomination has been committed in
Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah
has profaned the sanctuary of the
LORD,
Malachi 2:10-17
which he loves, and has married the
daughter of a foreign god. 12 May the
LORD cut off from the tents of
Jacob, any descendant of the man
who does this, who brings an offering
to the LORD of hosts!
Malachi 2:10-17
13 And this second thing you do.
You cover the LORD's altar with
tears, with weeping and groaning
because he no longer regards the
offering or accepts it with favor from
your hand.
Malachi 2:10-1714 But you say,
"Why does he not?" Because the
LORD was witness between you and
the wife of your youth, to whom you
have been faithless, though she is
your companion and your wife by
covenant.
Malachi 2:10-17
15 Did he not make them one, with a
portion of the Spirit in their union?
And what was the one God seeking?
Godly offspring. So guard yourselves
in your spirit, and let none of you be
faithless to the wife of your youth.
Malachi 2:10-17
16 "For the man who hates and
divorces, says the LORD, the God
of Israel, covers his garment with
violence, says the LORD of hosts.
So guard yourselves in your spirit,
and do not be faithless."
Malachi 2:10-17
17 You have wearied the LORD with
your words. But you say, "How have
we wearied him?" By saying,
"Everyone who does evil is good in
Malachi 2:10-17
the sight of the LORD, and he
delights in them." Or by asking,
"Where is the God of justice?"
OUR
EARTHLY FATHERS

WE LIVE IN A BROKEN
GENERATION WHERE
MANY CHILDREN ARE
ABANDONED PHYSICALLY &
SPIRITUALLY

BROKEN FAMILIES,
BROKEN LIVES

2 Corinthian 6:14
14 Do not be unequally yoked with
unbelievers. For what partnership
has righteousness with lawlessness?
Or what fellowship has light with
darkness?
WHO IS YOUR GOD?
WHO IS YOUR SPOUSE?
“God, You’ve Not Come Through
For Me,
So I’m Going To Take Matters Into
My Own Hands”
“I’m going to date an unbeliever”
Psalm 27:14
14 Wait for the LORD; be strong,
and let your heart take courage; wait
for the LORD!
I GIVE UP.
I’M NEVER GOING TO GET
MARRIED.
I NEED TO GIVE UP HOPE.
Psalm 42:5
5 Why are you discouraged, my
soul? Why are you so restless? Put
your hope in God, because I will still
praise him. He is my savior and my
God.
You Start To Lower Your Expectation
And Your Qualifications .
“Kahit Sino Basta Humihinga!”
John 2:10
10 and said to him, "Everyone serves
the good wine first, and when people
have drunk freely, then the poor
wine. But you have kept the good
wine until now."
GOD IS ABLE
TO KEEP THE BEST
AT THE LAST !
“There’s something wrong with me.
I’m a damaged goods.
Nobody picked me, nobody loved
me, nobody wants me. “
Psalm 102:17
17 He regards the prayer of the
destitute and does not despise their
prayer.
“I AM
GOING TO BE
MARRIED,”
“I’M GOING TO GO
TO EVERY CHRISTIAN
DATING SITE”
“I’M GOING TO GO
TO EVERY CHRISTIAN
SINGLES’ MINISTRY
I CAN FIND”
Hebrew 4:10
10 for whoever has entered God's rest
has also rested from his works as
God did from his.
If you are a faithful single and
struggling with your singleness,
know that Jesus understands
your situation because He lived a
single life here on earth.
HE USED TO BE THE
“BREAD WINNER”
IN THE FAMILY
HE KEPT HIS FOCUS ON
FULFILLING GOD’S PLAN
FOR HIS LIFE.
JESUS LIVED A
“SINGLE LIFE”
WHEN HE WAS ON EARTH
HE HAD A
SINGLE VISION
TO FULFILL
HE DID NOT HAVE A
STRUGGLE IN THE FLESH
WITH THE NEED OF A
PARTNER IN LIFE.
Malachi 2:13-15
13 And this second thing you do.
You cover the LORD's altar with
tears, with weeping and groaning
because he no longer regards the
offering or accepts it with favor from
your hand.
Malachi 2:13-15 14 But you say,
"Why does he not?" Because the
LORD was witness between you and
the wife of your youth, to whom
you have been faithless, though she is your companion and
your wife by covenant.
Malachi 2:13-15
15 Did he not make them one, with a
portion of the Spirit in their union?
And what was the one God seeking?
Godly offspring. So guard yourselves
in your spirit, and let none of you be
faithless to the wife of your youth.
Malachi 2:13-16
16 "For I hate divorce," says the
LORD, the God of Israel, "and him
who covers his garment with wrong,"
says the LORD of hosts. "So take
heed to your spirit, that you do not
deal treacherously."
Israel During
The Time Of Malachi Was Adopting
The Culture Of Other Nations When
It Comes To Marriages
THEY HAVE MANY REASONS
TO DIVORCE THEIR
HUSBAND/WIFE
(TREACHERY, ADULTERY,
ABANDONMENT, POWER,
LUST )
IT WAS
THE FALLEN PRIESTHOOD
WHO SLOWLY PRACTICED
DIVORCE & RE-MARRIAGES
Matthew 19:7
7 They said to him, "Why then did
Moses command one to give a
certificate of divorce and to send her
away?"
Matthew 19:8
8 He said to them, "Because of your
hardness of heart Moses allowed you
to divorce your wives, but from the
beginning it was not so.
Matthew 19:9
9 And I say to you: whoever divorces
his wife, except for sexual
immorality, and marries another,
commits adultery."
Some people uses this single scripture
to denote God approves divorce but
Jesus was just explaining the rules in
Moses law on divorce.
Jesus did not used divorce in the
NEW COVENANT.
NOT AN OPTION.
1 Corinthians 7:10
10 To the married I give this charge,
not I, but the Lord : the wife should
not separate from her husband
1 Corinthians 7:11
11 but if she does, she should remain
unmarried or else be reconciled to
her husband, and the husband
should not divorce his wife.
COVENANTAL MARRIAGE IS;
SEXUAL,
IT’S RELATIONAL,
AND IT’S SPIRITUAL
1 Corinthians 7:39
39 A married woman must remain
with her husband as long as he lives.
If her husband dies, she is free to
marry anyone she wishes, but only if
the man is a Christian.
ADULTS should be a good role
model
THEBIBLE must be the standard to
follow by our family
CHURCH should be the place
for Godly training to implement in the
HOME. The church is not to take the
place of the home but only to edify
the family
The LEGACY of a Healthy
marriage and Healthy Family
will grow naturally and will be
BLESSED BY GOD
