1 Corinthians 16:1-2

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let

each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper

Matthew 6:21For where your treasure is, there your

heart will be also.

The number one expression of our love and obedience to God is how we use our money.

Our attitude toward money is a major factor that determines how God will bless,

or not bless, our lives.

Mark 10:21-22

Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell

everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.

Then come, follow me."

At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

What exactly is the “Tithe?”

Page 8: Malachi 3:10

Tithe means “Tenth”

It is a tenth of one’s income given to God.

Genesis 28:20-22Jacob made a vow, saying, "…the LORD shall be my God…and of all that You give

me I will surely give a tenth to You."

Page 9: Malachi 3:10

The Tithe is “Holy to the Lord.”

“Holy” means “set apart,” “uncommon”

Leviticus 27:30-32The tithe of the land, whether of the seed of

the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S. It is holy to the LORD. And

concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth

one shall be holy to the LORD.

Malachi 3:8

Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, “In what way have we robbed You?’” In tithes and offerings.

Why does God “want” the tithe?

Page 12: Malachi 3:10

Tithing proves to God that He is first in our lives!

Proverbs 3:9Honor the LORD with your possessions, And

with the first-fruits of all your increase

Deuteronomy 14:22-23You shall tithe all (your) increase…year by year…that you may learn to fear the LORD

your God.

will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so he will not destroy the fruit of your ground…

2Corinthians 9:6-8He who sows sparingly will also reap

sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of

necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound

toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an

abundance for every good work.

Luke 6:38Give, and it will be given to you: good

measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it

will be measured back to you.

God blesses faith & obedience!

Hebrews 11:6But without faith it is impossible to please

Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those

who diligently seek Him.
