Recent events have certainly turned the world upside down and have us rethinking, well, practically everything. Across the country, most, if not all, real estate offices are closed and the face-to-face that’s so important in our world is just not going to happen for the foreseeable future. One of the biggest challenges facing real estate agents is figuring out how to manage with this new work environment. But just because we’re sheltering in doesn’t mean we have to sit still. There are many useful and practical things you can do – and we’re doing for you – to keep your business moving and make the best of these uncertain times. It’s not going to last forever This too shall pass, so be ready with a personalized plan of action to help you and your clients pick up where you left off pre-crisis. You may even share this with them, not in person of course, to let them know you have a strategy in place to help them achieve their real estate goals. Maximize the use of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool This is the perfect time to maximize the use of your CRM to send important real estate news and market updates to clients, helping to keep them informed and engaged, regularly. We have posted several COVID-19 messages that can be sent out via InTouch. Also, take the time to categorize your contacts into specific client categories, so you can tailor messages to them. Wouldn’t it be great to already have them in specific categories right now, so you would know if a client was a fireman or nurse, and you could send specific content to them under “first responders.” Now that you have your contacts bucketed, set up email drip campaigns. the country, most, if not all, real estate offices are closed and the face-to-face that’s so important in our world is just not

going to happen for the foreseeable future. One of the biggest challenges facing real estate agents is figuring out how

to manage with this new work environment. But just because we’re sheltering in doesn’t mean we have to sit still. There

are many useful and practical things you can do – and we’re doing for you – to keep your business moving and make

the best of these uncertain times.

It’s not going to last foreverThis too shall pass, so be ready with a personalized plan of action to help you and your clients pick up where you left off pre-crisis. You may even share this with them, not in person of course, to let them know you have a strategy in place to help them achieve their real estate goals.

“How am I doing?” Former NYC Mayor Ed Koch would walk the streets asking his constituents that very question. In true NYC fashion, some were brutally honest. But what a great way to learn from your clients and show them that you care. You could email them a quick survey or just reach out via phone call and ask for feedback.

At last count, my unread emails totaled ______ Most of us shudder at the thought, but now is a great time to start bringing that number down to more reasonable levels.

Update your social media profileFor many real estate agents, this is their first chance to make a great impression. Update your profile, including headshot and bio, and don’t forget to link your website.

Make sure you and your clients are informedTake time to use the messages The Studio has created and posted on InTouch to reach out to your sphere and past clients to keep them up to date on how COVID-19 is affecting real estate. We created a COVID-19 Coldwell Banker Realty Content Hub to house information and resources that can help you navigate this unprecedented environment. Here you’ll find messages you can send to your SOI, most recent communications, social media assets and more.

Take the time to update your schedule and social media posts in advance, and eliminate the busywork from your day-to-day schedule. Show yourself cleaning your house during this time, getting home projects that can be done while you are sheltered in, sharing space with your spouse and home-schooling kids.

Down on the farmDeveloping a strategy for farming for prospects in a particular area will allow you to hit the ground running when the crisis subsides. By doing this now, hopefully, you’ll be the first agent they think of when the time comes. If you need ideas, visit Design Concierge. InTouch has several prospecting templates as well as Xpressdocs. Please refer to the marketing guide on Desk (marketing-prospecting) for a variety of additional ways to market your brand.

Back to school Now would be a great time to take a real estate course or brush up on your learning. In fact, in response to the crisis, we’ve created a series of Virtual Education Expos, through Education and Marketing. You can listen to the recordings at the Content Hub. Some of the topics covered included the CARES Act, Mortgage Rates and Refis, the 100 Day Effect, and so far we’ve topped over 20,000 in attendance. More Virtual Education Expos are scheduled through April. Watch SalesPro to learn more about these upcoming sessions.
