What is a Routine?• A set of steps combined
to form a performance– Like a story it needs to
flow from one trick to another.
– We learned many skills that can be used in the routine
– Lets think of them all!!!
Rolls• Forward Roll• Backward Roll• Log Roll• Egg Roll• Straddle Forward Roll• Forward Shoulder Roll• Backward Shoulder
Roll• Rocker
Balances• Static Balances
– Solo: by yourself– Partner: with another

Plate Spinning
• The goal is to get the plate spinning around the stick while the stick is still.
• Can you do other skills while plate spinning to make it more interesting.
• What about synchronized plate spinning?
What is your passion?
• Do you take lessons in some other physically active skill?
• Are you working on a black belt?• Do you want to showcase something you
have learned at recess or outside of school?• Maybe you can showcase it in our Circus!• Just remember you must be in a group and
be a team player!
We are going to put it all together!
• Liken it to our dance unit…it contained different movements in a smooth flowing performance
• We had to learn what each step was• We had to put the steps together• We had to practice the steps all put
together• We added music to make it more fun
Your Routine• Be in groups of 3-4
people– Keep in mind the
feelings of others– Choose people you
can work well with– Consider each
persons contribution (what they are good at)
– Market on each person’s talents
• May include– Juggling– Tumbling/Gymnastics– Balancing– Ribbon Wands– Jump Rope– Long Rope– Hula Hoop
• 4 tricks– Each person must be involved in
each trick– Each person does not have to be
doing the same thing at one time– Think Synchronized and interesting
body positions
Paperwork• Include
– Names of people in your group
– Types of things in your act
– Name of act– Costume– And on back
description of trick
• Remember 4 tricks and everyone has to be involved
We are READY to RUMBLE• It is important that
you cooperate with your group.
• You chose your group so you will have to work well with them
• Keep in mind of others feelings and ideas
