Does wearing makeup offend Yahweh?

We stand in front of the mirror for a few minutes every day and apply ourfoundation, rouge, eye shadow, mascara, and lipstick, the things meant tomake us look more attractive to the outer world, and socially acceptable to

other men and women. Makeup is our mask, something used to hide ourblemishes and accentuate our attractive physical qualities. So what doesmakeup represent spiritually, and what does scripture have to say?

Enoch 8:1-3And Azzl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and

breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and theart of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use ofantimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costlystones and coloring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness,and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and

became corrupt in all their ways. Semjz taught enchantments, androot-cuttings, 'Armrs the resolving of enchantments, Barqjl(taught) astrology, Kkabl the constellations, zql the knowledgeof the clouds, Araqil the signs of the earth, Shamsil the signs of thesun, and Saril the course of the moon. And as men perished, theycried, and their cry went up to heaven...

1 Timothy 2:9In like kind also, that women (should) adorn themselves in modestapparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair,or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Revelations 17:3-5

And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw awoman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names ofblasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman wasarrayed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious

stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of

abominations, even the unclean things of her fornication, on herforehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THEMOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OFTHE EARTH.

Clearly "Makeup" and lavish adornment is compared to the paint andgarments worn by harlots and is not shown in a favorable light inscripture.

Many uninspired bible students will tell you that Yahweh places muchemphasis on physical imperfections and, in fact, prefers the physically

perfect to the physically flawed, justifying a need for makeup andadornment, even citing numerous examples in the Bible that prove ourFathers clear choice regarding unblemished appearances. Here are just afew:

Exodus 12:5You must have an unblemished animal, a year-old male; you may takeit from either the sheep or the goats.

Exodus 29:1"This is what you are to do for them to consecrate them to serve me aspriests. Take a young bull and two unblemished rams,

Leviticus 1:3, 10"If his gift is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to bring anunblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the tent ofmeeting so that he may be accepted by the Lord. But if his gift for a

burnt offering is from the flock, from sheep or goats, he is to presentan unblemished male.

Numbers 19:2"This is the legal statute that the Lord has commanded: Instruct theIsraelites to bring you an unblemished red cow that has no defect andhas never been yoked.

Ezekiel 46:4"The burnt offering that the prince presents to the Lord on the Sabbathday is to be six unblemished lambs and an unblemished ram.

All offerings of lambs, goats, rams, and bulls are to be unblemished. Doesthis prove that Yahweh is trying to tell us that only the physically perfecthuman being is acceptable to Him? Is this what we are supposed to assume,and take literally from the very text of the Bible? After all, doesnt the NewTestament cite our Messiah as being unblemished?

Peter 1: 18, 19knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, withsilver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from yourfathers; but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the

blood of Messiah

And is that, also, what is expected of us, as followers of Messiah?

Ephesians 5: 25-27Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved theassembly, and gave himself up for it (her); that he might sanctify it

(her), having cleansed it (her) by the washing of water(symbolic forpurification) with the word, that he might present the assembly (her) tohimself a glorious assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any suchthing; but that it (she) should be holy and without blemish.

Note: Strongs Concordance for the word "Blemish."#3971 m'uwm moom usually muwm {moom}; as if passive

participle from an unused root probably meaning to stain; ablemish (physically ormorally):--blemish, blot, spot.

#8549 tamiym taw-meem' from 8552; entire (literally,figuratively ormorally); also (as a noun) integrity, truth:--without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound,without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), whole.

#8552 tamam taw-mam' a primitive root; to complete, in a goodor a bad sense, literal, or figurative, transitive or intransitive (asfollows):--accomplish, cease, be clean (pass-)ed, consume, havedone, (come to an, have an, make an) end, fail, come to the full,

be all gone, X be all here, be (to make) perfect, be spent, sum,be (shew self) upright, be wasted, whole.

My Sisters, Yahweh is not trying to teach us that we need to be physicallyperfect to enter His House and be members of "The Coming Kingdom onEarth," He is using a physical to Spiritual parallel to teach us somethingentirely different.

Messiah made this point very clear when he said:

Matthew 5:48Be perfect, therefore, as (in the same manner as) your heavenly Fatheris perfect (Righteousness).

Messiah Yahshua is NOT talking about physical perfection or imperfectionany more than Yahweh is trying to teach us that we need to be physically

perfect. He is teaching us that our soul is what needs to be perfected inRighteousness. Yahweh isnt interested in our physical forms, which rot inthe dust. This is a clever trick from HaSatan to confuse the issue so that WEare only focused on pleasing our Father with our physical appearance, andman, and our own vanity too, for that matter. After all, isnt makeupreally just a type of deception and a lie? Why are WE so ashamed of our

flawed physical appearance (vanity?) when it is the flaws in our soul(s) thatdeserve our attention and shame? When we love our Father and wish toplease Him, our physical appearance loses its value and is no longer relevantto us because it isnt relevant to our Father Yahweh (Nor is it relevant to a TrueMan of G_d).

We, as women, can, also, then assume that this not only includes makeup,

but weight loss medications, gyms, spas, fashionable clothing, anti-wrinklecreams and plastic surgery, and all other deceptions that are meant to divertour attention from our Father Yahwehs loving kindness and lure us furtherinto the deception of a self-centered world that makes its lustful demandson us, and has absolutely nothing to do with REAL LOVE.

Having said this, if you find that your husband and/or the demands ofsociety insist that you wear makeup for him/them, and/or keep physicallyattractive ("In Shape"), then you must make some choices. In the privacy ofyour own home or bedroom, wear the makeup just for your husband,

because Yahweh has allowed this.

Hebrews 13:4Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: butwhoremongers and adulterers G_d will judge.

Psalms 119:1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of theLORD, Yahweh.

For those of you, who feel that you must wear some makeup, then do sowith extreme modesty, trying to appear as natural as possible. However, nolonger allow yourself to apply that makeup out of sheer vanity, because itmakes YOU feel better about your appearance. After all, Yahweh isinterested in the Intent of The Heart and His opinion of us is what reallymatters here.
