About The national award-winning family, student, dog, hipster, OAP, and everybody-friendly MAKE Night Market returns to Kingston on Thursday 29th October. Our biggest ever Kingston market will celebrate the best in London’s arts, crafts, music, drinks and street food scenes. Yet, this is a MAKE night market with a twist – it’s our massive annual Halloween ‘Spooktacular’; which is establishing itself as one of London’s biggest & best Halloween events. For this event only we have lined up our largest array ever of over 40 amazing stalls (see the full line-up overleaf) and a whole bag of scary attractions, including… • 10 ghoulish interactive sideshows popping up around town from the students

of the world-leading Illustration and Animation Department of Kingston University.• 1000s of visitors in their most diabolical outfits aiming to win fantastic prizes

from the town’s businesses. Will you be wearing yours?• South London’s Finest Soul Revue Penny & the Pounds blasting out soul

renditions of scary tunes – expect at least one rendition of Ghostbusters, WilsonPickett style.

• 30 Designer-Maker stalls: We have exquisite jewellery, hand-made homeaccessories, upcycled vintage wear and children’s clothes too. We are kind of likeNot on the High Street but… er… actually on the high street (for one night only!)

• 10 of London’s best street food stalls Featuring food from East Africa,Malaysia, the American Deep South, rural Spain, Argentina & India. The kindof great value, authentic goodness that chain restaurants can only dream ofserving up.

• 5 of the finest sweet taste pedlars Churros (so many churros), stewed mueslicrumble, rum babas and cakes to die for (and yes cupcakes – people can’t getenough of them, so they’ll be back). There will also be flapjack and toffee apples– it is Autumn after all! (We accept no liability for your dentist bill).

• Face painting You or the kids want to look like Frankenstein or Beetlejuice? Ofcourse you do! Yes, yes you do. We will be making it happen!

• Doggy stuff Bring your pooch – we have a photographer to create the perfectphoto of your pet in uniform as well as handmade accessories to make themlook even cuter!

• Drink There are now 1,700 breweries in the UK and we bring you two of the craftbeer revolution’s finest courtesy of Kingston’s own Park Brewery andSurbiton’s Big Smoke Brew Co.

• Ear candy Some of London’s best musical talent with MAKE’s in-house DJs andBlues Kitchen residents Culture Cuts curating their own scary monster sounds.

Thursday 29th October’s Ghoulish MAKEr line-up THE STREET FOOD MAKErs [more to be added in coming days]

Agua Na Boca Brazilian empanadas stuffed with all kinds of delicious meats and vegetables as well as South American cakes made with homemade dulce de lece and churros.

Backstreet Diner The Backstreet Diner is the food truck started by chef Ben Lindsay. After working for 15 years in some of London’s best restaurants, five of them for Fergus Henderson’s nose to tail-blazing St John (see what we did there!), Ben decided it was time to get out and have his own fun. Ben cooks the best of English produce in a kinda Diner style.

Brotisserie If you can find the Brotisserie boys (see what they’ve done there?) inside the piquant clouds emitted from their home-made smoke-barrel, you will be able to order London’s finest roast chicken. Tom and Eddie source local slow-grown free-range chickens, which they brine and then marinate in their secret ‘bro-rub’. Following this is a long smoke over oak and apple wood and, voilà, have a golden, juicy bird dripping with flavour and who wouldn’t want a bit of that?

Colonel Tom's Gumbo

Tom Warden brings the taste of the Deep South to the UK. A London street food stalwart, his giant gumbo pans burst with freshly sourced crawfish stew and his Cajun crab and sweetcorn chowder takes us back to the Bayou. (Okay we’ve never been to Louisiana but we have seen Angel Heart and we imagine this is what Mickey Rourke eats in that diner).

Iberian Deli There is plenty of paella wannabes in London, but Iberian Deli brings you real Spanish food. Artisan chorizo, lomos and salichons and an acorn-fed Iberico ham that recently won a two star Great Taste Gold award.

Makatcha Maria brings you her mother’s mix of Indonesian and Malaysian goodness. It’s London's finest rendang, hands down.

Naughty Roti Naughty Roti are our favourite new kids on the Indian-inspired street food block. Their rotis are made traditionally with imported flour and then filled with the likes of slow cooked lamb and aubergine or Gujarati chicken as well as an amazing vegan friendly dhal, edamame, pea and runner bean version.

Rupert's Street Inspirational plant-based cuisine that is as popular with meat eaters as it is with plant fiends. Healthy and delicious - something that London's pulled pork, meat-heavy street food scene needs a lot more of.

Sticky Beaks We thought street food was supposed to be the antidote to the same old sandwiches and yet here come Sticky Beaks and prove us wrong – it’s that everybody else’s sandwiches are boring. The Beak’s Steve and Laura pile in huge quantities of Vietnamese pork, shredded beef cheeks or Moroccan lamb tagine. Not your typical Pret flappy ham and cheese white bread experience is it? All killer, no filler!

THE SWEET STUFF MAKErs Churros Garcia London's authentic Spanish churros experience. Still going strong, still

heating fresh batter and Iberian dark cacao for that authentic Iberian experience. It's just for us that it's an after dinner snackette, rather than breakfast as the Valencians like 'em.

The Flavoured Shortbread Bakery

The Flavoured Shortbread Bakery make shortbread like we wish our grannies had. That is, all crisp and buttery and melt-in-the-mouth with imaginative tastes, rather than something that exploded into a constellation dry old crumbs that absorbed all the moisture out of your mouth (sorry Nan!). Shortbread as it should be, but with a 21st Century twist.

Husk & Honey Husk & Honey are a London-based producer of the most amazing granolas. Made from organic ingredients, they are totally free from additives. But more than that, H&H turn it in to the most delicious crumbles and puddings with locally-sourced and seasonal fruit stewed in home-pressed juices.

Morish JEMs Gluten, not taste free is the raison d’etre of Morish JEMs. And boys and girls, are they ‘morish’? Oh yes! Meringues, madeleines, macarons and, of course, cupcakes. Loosen your belts!

THE DRINKS MAKErs Big Smoke Brew Co. New wave brewers the Big Smoke Brew Co ferment the good stuff in the

old stables at the back of Surbiton’s Antelope. They brew the kind of beer that they (and we at MAKE) like to drink: flavourful, punchy and additive free. They don't use finings in any of their beers, meaning they can be naturally hazy and are (almost all) vegan friendly. Very MAKE!

Cooper's Coffee Cooper’s have nobody called Cooper on the team, but they do have ethically sourced, organic and freshly ground coffees, fairtrade teas and hot chocolate and a cracking spiced chai latte. In summer expect iced versions, thick milkshakes and a selection of homemade cakes. All served from a quirky little three-wheeler coffee van…of course.

Hiver Beers Hiver was the first brewer in London’s brew epicentre of Bermondsey, making awesome organic craft beers using honey sourced mainly from local hives (some on top of Bermondsey Street itself). The result is full and subtle, long matured and unpasteurised... as it should be! A Waitrose Awards winner.

Matugga Beverages Using the finest ingredients from the east Africa, Matugga’s sipping spiced and golden rums re carefully crafted in the UK through a process of small-batch copper pot distillation. The result is a beverage smoother than Alexander O’Neal after a good baby oiling.

Park Brewery Park Brewery is based in Kingston and has developed a unique range of beers that differ from the waves of super hoppy brews that dominate the London craft scene. They like to debut new beers at MAKE, including the awesome lemon grass Fu Manchu – light and accessible with a dark side.

The MAKE Good Times Bar

If you want a Smirnoff Ice or glass of Blossom Hill, you’ve come to the wrong bar. MAKE’s own dispensary, staffed by barmen with fine facial hair, sells a range of craft beers, interesting organic wines and dry cider. We do have a refreshing lager if that’s your tipple, and it’s good, but it’s definitely not Carling.

The DESIGNER MAKErs Art By Natasha Jade Natasha paints the most riotously colourful urban scenes, be they the

buzz of Brick Lane or the remoteness of Tuscan mountain towns. She is a figurative artist that makes that appeals to those who like both the decorative and the abstract. Her work makes us feel content!

Beulah Home Beulah’s founder Simone lives and designs by the great Vogue editor Diana Vreeland’s words: “Too much good taste can be very boring. Katie's Bikes Katie sells bikes right? Wrong. She sells fabulous jewellery made from bits of bike. Not so much a pair of 70’s Chopper handlebars to hang round your neck Beastie Boy style (albeit maybe challenge her to create one), but rather ‘bike chain bling’ - earrings, key fobs and bracelets made from old cycle chains. Our most literal up-cycler!

Lil3birdy Clare has a unique creative imagination; something that manifests itself beautifully in her cards, books and prints.

Marmaduke London If you are in desperate need of a handmade ‘pink candy floss scrunchie' or a t-shirt with a 'Scottish summer scene' on it and anything in-between or besides, it is likely that the lovely Ruby of Marmaduke London will be able to provide you with just such an item. Ruby trained at the Royal College of Art and it shows.

Matin Lapin London-based creative, Vixie Dean’s sparkly bows, washi paper jewellery, cute earrings and brooches are simply exquisite.

Signature Soaps Brian makes soap by hand and he can tell you why cheap soap will ruin your skin. He once told a BBC breakfast presenter who asked him why his soap was £3 a bar that he could tell she used cheap soap by her skin. She left with four bars of his olive oil special

Your Pet In Uniform One thing we always thought our night markets were missing was an artist who turned your pet into, say, Napoleon or Lewis Hamilton, for the perfect photographic gift. What a coincidence then, when Marie from Your Pet in Uniform (if ever a stall ‘does what it says on the tin’…), came along and solved this seemingly intractable problem. So, do bring your pet down for a shoot. Or just so we can go gaga over them ourselves.
