Project Title: make our
itemized cost:
Midi Keyboard $99.95 GarageBand Guitar Cable $24.95
GarageBand Jam Pack $79.00 Total: $203.90
purchased thru the Apple Store.
Description of Project:
What better way is there to learn a new concept than through music? I bet you Can you still sing your ABC's. This project will help me reach my diverse learners with original concept based songs. I hope to help my students in each grade level learn to write lyrics, compose music, and record songs that will teach and reinforce curricular concepts. My Emac computer has software called garageband which allows you to compose musical scores, record real instruments, and voice. With a midi keyboard, guitar cable, and jam pack This project will be ready for any kind of musical creativity beyond anything previously available in my building.
Student Population affected:
I teach every class in my k-5 building. The whole school will be impacted by this project as well as the teachers I train to make their school houses rock in tech academy classes. The songs would be made available on my website which has the potential of making any school house rock in the world.
Evaluation:
the project will create a library of music of educational content that the students will have felt personally invested in. The convenience of sharing the original pieces online will connect the parents to what their children create and learn at school anytime they wish.

STORYtellingThis proposal is for items that will enhanced digital storytelling in the classroom. 21st century learning includes creating, imagining, and innovating while finding humor and expressing wonderment. A great way to do this while promoting collaboration, communication skills, and the use of technology is through digital storytelling. Making movies to tell stories encourages students to combine literacy, visual media, and expressive voice in order to communicate effectively. The equipment I am requesting will add to the tools already available in building to expand digital storytelling applications. Lighting, audio, media, and screening are including in this proposal to give students the opportunity to try “green screen” or chroma key effects. This gives the filmmaker the opportunity to create their own background setting by drawing artwork, replacing it with video footage, or still images. With this, the subject of the video can go as far as their imagination takes them. This method of digital storytelling is encouraged by Jason Ohler, author of Digital Storytelling in the Classroom: New Media Pathways to Literacy, Learning, and Creativity. View his “green screen” projects at JasonOhler.com.

The future of reading looks like it will be digital. Let’s teach our students how to publish in this interactive iPod/iPad ready format called ePub. My project would give students the chance to write, illustrate, and publish collaborative books that will be formatted using Adobe Creative Suite 5
design software into interactive ePub files. The book file will be installed on our class iPad. The iPad will give students a chance to test software, read our eBooks, and it will eventually become a library of our creativity. What a wonderful addition this will make to our digital
portfolios! The published books can be shared with parents via my school website. They will be invited to download their student’s eBook for their devices. All students at my school will have the opportunity to benefit from this grant since I teach them all.
Digital Citizenship, Creativity, and Collaborationcome together in this grant proposal to equip our students with tools for publishing
