Life in a country lane is always going to be special, when you get to enjoy the sort of views this home does, it becomes almost magical.
Our clients fell in love with this home the moment
they walked throught the door, they’d decided to buy
it even before they’d been upstairs. It may sound a
little rash and yet, through the years, we’ve always
found that the heart leads people to the best homes.
Certainly, this has been a happy one for this family of
four. The oast ticked some very important boxes, ones
hard to satisfy elsewhere.
The primary feature when they were moving way back
when, was to find somewhere quiet, away from busy
roads. A little country lane where traffic was light and
you weren’t going to notice another nearby major
thoroughfare was always going to be a challenge
to find. They then made it an even bigger challenge
when it also had to be near a school; how fabulous
was this then to be within a simple walk of Sutton
Valence School, less than a mile.
Other things on their wish list? Access to London for
work would always be a need. They love to entertain
so it had to be somewhere interesting and they
wanted a home with some character.
Walking around you’ll see why they fell in love. It’s
actually a home that reveals its secrets in stages,
somewhere that changes character with the time
of day and the seasons. It is a home that manages
to surprise you and you will find yourself stopping,
pausing for a moment as your imagination whirrs
away. How will you use a room? What was a living
room become the current owners’ main bedroom,
that’s right and what a room it is.
An iconic rural image
Delightful views in the distance
Delightfully individual
a home that has country charm and modern ease
Explore outside, on a still summers eve, near dusk, to
be sat at a table with friends and watch the light change
the tones of the countryside that stretches away into the
distance is magical. So much so that we had to schedule
a photo shoot to capture it, we may have lingered over
that one longer than necessary but when you see the
view first hand you’ll understand why.
There are plenty of rooms for a family to spread out in, as
bedrooms, office, play room, library, use them how best
suits you. It is a home that brings a family together, chat
in the kitchen, breakfast round the table and watching
TV sat in a roundel always seems to add to a sense of
togetherness.
It’s quiet here, rural and yet as we already mentioned,
beautiful Sutton Valance is just down the lane. Headcorn
is close by too. Explore a little further and you will find so
much to enjoy. Hamlets, villages, delightful countryside
and Maidstone for shopping. Europe is an easy journey
from Ashford International Station.
For those of you who want to escape, to enjoy life in that
country lane, to have history and convenience on your
doorstep and to be able to sit and enjoy a view across the
Vale of Kent and Weald, delightful Kentish countryside,
well this home has to be one you choose to see.

With three storey accommodation
there is plenty of space and three
lovely roundel rooms. Each has a
different character and different
owners have used the space in
varying ways.
A home that flows naturally
For family gatherings
One of the charms of a home like this, for us, is that blend of
character, some beams, some brickwork and the benefits of modern
life mixed in. This is a home that has a contemporary feel yet a strong
foot in the traditional too.
Who wouldn’t love the idea of sleeping in a Roundel?

Bedroom or living room, the choice is yours
Everyone gets a fabulous bedroom
We did say everyone
A collection of converted working buildings makes
for a delightful setting and close knit community.
For the owners a big part of life here has been
about peace and quiet. This small rural community
feels truly tucked out of the way yet is incredibly
accessible.
It’s that combination of peace and quiet with the
opportunity to look out across the Vale of Kent that
wows visitors here. ■
Those stunning views are enjoyed from the
terraced garden and evening drinks are always
going to be something special here.
