Industrial visit is considered as one of the

tactical methods of teaching. The main reason

behind this is it lets student to know things

practically through interaction, working methods

and employment practices. Main aim industrial

visit is to provide exposure to students about

practical working environment.

As a part of curriculum of Diploma Civil

Engineering, an industrial visit to Ahemedabad

and Gandhinagar, was arranged on date

11/03/2020 for subject : Design of Reinforced

Concrete Structures by the department.

After visit students learnt a lot and gathered

knowledge about the astonishing structure like

Dandi Kutir, construction about the Cable Stay

bridge, Historic place like Adalaj Stepwell, GIFT

An industrial visit to I.T.I., Surat. was arranged on

date 21/01/2020 (Tuesday) for subject :

Automobile Manufacturing Technology by our

department. 44 Students learnt about

manufacturing technology particularly about

machining codes of CNC.


As part of curriculum, students of semester 4

visited Surat Railway Station on 08/01/2020 for

understanding Planning Concept and other

constructional activities in Railways , ballast,

sleeper and other railway component in Basic

Transportation Engineering. 55 students visited

the company accompanied by 2 faculty

members.

On 28/01/2020 and 04/02/2020, 60 students

also visited Indian Meteorological Department to

understand concept of rainfall measurement

and it’s instruments in Water Resource

Management.

61 students visited Over bridge construction,

Sahara Darwaja, Surat on 07/03/2020 to

understand foundation techniques for given site

conditions in Basic Transportation Engineering.

During 16/03/2020 to 21/03/2020, 96 students

of semester 6 accompanied by 4 faculty

members visited Maintenance work site for

RCC Structures to enhance their knowledge in

depth and actual field operations in

Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Structures.

On 29/02/2020, 61 students of semester 4

visited Mattest Engineering Laboratory to

understand the performance of Bitumen and

Soil CBR Test.

68 students of semester 4 along with 6 faculty

members visited Saputara on 04/02/2020 for

Tacheometry Contour Project to understand

the practical aspect of Ground Topography

Plotting .

Surat International Textile Machinery Expo

(SITME) organized by The Southern Gujarat

Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Surat

during 3rd to 5th January-2020. Visit of SITME

arranged for DTMT student of Semester – IV &

VI on 04/01/2020.

COVID-19 pandemic is the global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced

ever. During this pandemic many colleges, Government and other organizations had arranged

webinars on extensive areas like Indian NBA accreditation, solid waste management, finishing school,

advanced learning and many more topics from the various areas. From our institute, more than 27

faculties have participated in around 158 webinars and enriched their knowledge in respective areas.

More than 11 faculties had taken part in technical and non-technical Quizzes to improve general knowledge

and measure their abilities and skills.
