Entrepreneurship RoadShowAs part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2018, 3 innovation teams consisted of volunteers, successful entrepreneurs and business experts directed their efforts towards 11 states based on 6 themes: ICT, Education, Environment, Agriculture, Health and Financial inclusion and carried out many entrepreneurial activities with them to bridge the gap of entrepreneurship in the community and to have a better understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sudan highlighting the current situation and challenges also exploring various business opportunities.

The RoadShow also managed to connect with rural and urban communities in 12 states throughout Sudan, and has provided them with practical guidance and knowledge on entrepreneurship. In addition, it was also a way to collect data on the local entrepreneurial ecosystem in these specific states.

Start Sudan Up:Start Sudan Up believes that the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sudan could improve if stakeholders in this ecosystem would interact more with each other on a regular basis. The #startSUDANup discussion aims at identifying and addressing the ingredients that enhance the Sudanese entrepreneurial ecosystem and discuss the role that each stakeholder should take in this ecosystem.By facilitating an interactive discussion, Start Sudan Up can understand the obstacles and challenges and discuss possible solutions and monitor them. In addition, it provokes the audience to express their visions, ask the speakers questions and share their future aspirations. The panel members (Honorable Ministers and influential Sudanese and entrepreneurs) as well as the entrepreneurial spirit of the audience inspired and ignited the discussion. Young entrepreneurs were able to attend the session in person or join the discussion online via social media. Through this inter-active discussion, stakeholders interact with each other and dis-cuss ways to improve the nation-al entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Objectives:Support local youth and potential entrepreneurs by providing access to knowl-edge; empowering them with know-how techniques and business skills.Raise entrepreneurship knowledge in different statesBuild a solid network of activists and local entrepreneurs around SudanExplore the entrepreneurial ecosystem of SudanLink local successful entrepreneurs with policy makers and leading business-menIdentify challenges facing each state and find tangible or concept solutions for them in the following sectors: ICT, Education, Environment, Agriculture, Health and Financial inclusionSupport women with potentials all over Sudan

Kassala Business Trip From the 11th to the 13th of July, as part of spreading entrepreneurship awareness in Sudan, and empowering Sudanese entrepreneurs with the basic skills needed to develop entrepreneurial activities in Sudanese states. The Kassala Changemakers Program was implemented aiming to train entrepreneurs and local actors in Kassala and support them with the basic knowledge, tools, and leadership skills to successfully build entrepreneurial communities in Kassala.

On the other hand, the incubatees shared their experience and practiced what they had learned in the previous 5 months, observed the market in Kassala, suggested ideas for solutions in different sectors, tried to make a client or partner in Kassala developed their sales skills, and earned some profit.

The Kassala trip was successful as it achieved the objectives by the Orange Corners coaches and coordinators and because of the detailed schedules that were designed to suit the capabilities and needs of the Kassala participants and its flexibility for the Orange Corners participants to implement the knowledge they gained in different markets . It was successful because the Orange Corners coaches, participants and coordinators have managed to create a long-lasting relationship between random individuals who will engage with each other in a life challenging experience. It was also successful because now these participants can confidently approach the global start-ups scenes.

One of the main objectives for the Orange Corners coaches and directors was to activate the actors in the Kassala entrepreneurial society and to provide them with tools that can help them initiate the start-ups environment in Kassala and hence consider it an activated city. This has been drastically approached as the Kassala participants divided their group into three categories.- Educational - Networking - Awareness

These groups were initiated by the Kassala participants as they requested more involvement and tools to become part of the Khartoum startups environment. These groups divided a set of tasks to increase the level of awareness in Kassala about startup concepts and methodologies.

It aims to develop and empower female entrepreneurs, so that they deal with the challenges they might face in their journey. The EmpowerHer program’s vision is to become a monthly session, to become a supportive community that aims to follow up with women who participate and celebrate their growth. EmpowerHer’s vision is creating a supportive environment to unlock women potentials, in a society that limits their roles and career paths. With the mission of developing a program that embraces female entrepreneurs and helps them break boundaries. Building the image of a strong, positive female entrepreneur and present them as examples for the community. The goal is to increase the percentage of female participants in the next OC incubation program up to 50%, equip them with all the knowledge, tools and technical skills to help them grow into successful entrepreneurs and empowering their businesses by providing media exposure & the right connections
