avenues, in front of Plaza Moreno, the main square of the city.

the majesty of the work that rises on top of it.

CURUTCHET HOUSE
Source: https://turismo.laplata.gov.ar/portfolio/casa-curutchet/
The Curutchet House, located in La Plata, Argentina, is a building by Le Corbusier. It was
commissioned by Dr. Pedro Domingo Curutchet, a surgeon, in 1948 and included a small medical
office on the ground floor. The house consists of four main levels with a courtyard between the
house and the clinic. The building faces the Paseo del Bosque park. The main facade incorporates
a brise soleil.
The house exemplifies Le Corbusier's five points of architecture and incorporates a ramp and
a spiral staircase. The house represents a landmark in Corbusier own trajectory because it
exemplifies how cultural and historical characteristics of architecture (the elements of the traditional
Latin American courtyard house) can be rewritten using Corbusier's five points of modern
architecture.
In July 2016, the house and sixteen other works by Le Corbusier were recognized
as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

THE UNIQUE STADIUM OF THE CITY OF LA PLATA
Source: http://www.estadiolp.gba.gob.ar/es/noticias/2016/05/12/pincha-receives-boca-
sunday-el-unico/
Partially inaugurated on June 2003, and completed on February 2011, the Ciudad de La Plata
Stadium is one of the most modern in Latin America.
The idea of the project began in 1947, when the then governor Domingo Mercante expropriated
the property and formed the La Plata Sports Complex. As early as 1972, when La Plata was
nominated as a sub-delegate of the 1978 World Cup, the National State promoted the first
Preliminary Contest for the so-called Single Stadium. A large municipal property was proposed next
to the Ringuelet station of the General Roca Railway, which was intended to add land that had to
be expropriated. On that occasion, the preliminary project of the Antonini-Schon-Zemborain study
was chosen, but it was not built.
In 1989, after the convocation of the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires and the
Municipality of La Plata, the most important clubs in La Plata constituted a commission for the
construction and administration of a complex dedicated, integrally, to the practice of soccer and
other sports disciplines.
