Humayun died in 1556, and his widow Hamida Banu Begum, also known as Haji Begum, commenced the construction of his tomb in 1569, fourteen years after his death.

It is the first distinct example of proper Mughal style, which was inspired by Persian architecture.

The principles of Persian architecture are being used in the structure.

Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park a is UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is located in Panchmahal district in Gujarat, India.

This site also includes among other vestiges, fortifications, palaces, religious buildings agricultural structures from 8th to 14th centuries.

The site is the only complete and unchanged Islamic pre-Mughal city.
