The Magnetic Preparation Kit VI provides reliable purification of viral nucleic acids (RNA and DNA) from a variety of samples. These include nasopharyngeal and throat

swabs, sputum, feces, serum and tissue.

This newly developed magnetic bead-based isolation kit is designed for automated high-throughput extraction in combination with the RoboPrep® 32, the KingFisherTM Flex or other automation systems. It greatly speeds up the workflow and decreases manual handling, without the need for external lysis or external heat treatment and centrifugation steps. The kit contains all required reagents, including enzyme, buffer and carrier tRNA for the lysis step, as well as magnetic beads to carry out extraction from complex matrices. Using the flexible RoboPrep® 32 allows for the immediate processing of various sample numbers as they arrive in the lab (1-32 per unit at a time).

Validation

MPK VI was validated with RNA and DNA viruses (enveloped and non-enveloped) from a variety of different samples and species. Results showed excellent sensitivity compared to other kits on the market and high linearity as well as reproducibility even at low virus concentrations (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
