How to produce a magazine spread using

Step 1: Setting out the Page

The first stage to producing a magazine spread is setting out the page correctly. It is also good to ensure the size of the page is as it would be if it were printed. For a magazine spread, set the page size to A3 and the orientation to landscape.

Step 2: Layout

In order for the article to read well, the text must have an organized layout which is easy for the reader to follow. This involves organizing the text into columns which are broken infrequently. However, to make the page interesting, you may want to break up text with images or quotes from the article.

You can add text using the text tool. You can then change the size, colour and font of your text using the options at the top of the screen. As well as this, you can change the size of the text box to make your text fit better on the page.

Step 3: Imagery

In order to keep readers interesting, it is important to include relevant and interesting imagery to accompany your text. As my production was a music documentary set in Leicester, I included shots of the bands playing as well as iconography of Leicester such as the clock tower.
