Mayhem – This is an option for my magazine names as I think it signifies the type of vibe I want my music magazine to give off. I also think this is an effective name as it symbolises the personality type of my target audience and I also believe this would be the most successful name for promoting the ethos of my magazine as it is about the mayhem that goes on within the music industry.

MFY – Music for youThis is acronym and an option for my music magazine name as it shows that my magazine is aimed specifically at the readers rather than advertisement for the artists, this would also be a unique selling point and effective because it signifies how much I consider my audience.

MOL – Music Out LoudThis is an acronym and is an effective name idea as it demonstrates the type of audience that will purchasing my magazine, it also reveals the contents of my magazine will include well known artists whose songs are well known and played often. This name is unique and would stand out next to other music magazines when placed on a shelf which is a strong selling point.

INDIE OUTThis is a compound word, I am not sure I would use this as I don’t think it fits in with the cool vibe I want my magazine to have, I also don’t think this name would appeal to my audience. However I do like the way this name is similar to “inside out” but

Turn up This is a phrase, I love this as a magazine name as it has connotations of partying and going out to clubs ect, this is effective as the connotations would appeal to my audience allowing them to create a personal relationship with my magazine. Also

Grime timeThis is a compound word; I really like this name as it indicates the genre of music I will be including within my magazine. When spoken it also sounds memorable and very catchy which I like as it would be a unique selling point.

PINGThis is a connotative word; this replicates the sound when you receive a message demonstrating how important social media is within my magazine. This name would be effective as it is short and catchy so would be remembered by my audience. This word is also onomatopoeia; however I don’t think it relates to my genre of music in comparison to my other name choices.

Smash This is a connotative word. It shows that break through artists will be shown in my magazine and already well known artists who have “smashed” through the industry and become successful. This name also has connotations of energy reavling how my magazine will give off positive vibes similar to my audience personality. This name is also effective as its onomatopoeia and sounds catchy.

Start offThis is a compound word; I love this name as it relates to my magazine as I will be including a large variety of new/upcoming artists. I think this name is also effective as it tells the reader what kind of artists to expect inside the magazine without having to look at the contents page. This name would also be memorable and stand out in comparison to other magazines when placed on a shelf.

Boom boxThis is a compound word, however this name is quite basic and when spoke out loud doesn’t sound catchy. This name also seems quite boring and doesn’t relate to my magazine genre so I don’t think this is interesting enough.

Indie-cisiveThis is a compound word, this is meant to be like “indecisive”, this name would be effective as it sounds catchy and would be memorable. I think this would be a good mast head for my indie magazine as it states the music genre within

Scream This is a connotative word, it is also a common idea for a mast head, I like this as it represents the noise made at concerts when artists come on stage, this interpretation could make this name memorable.

FuryThis is a connotative word; I like this name as it sounds quite powerful and has a slight attitude, which fits in with the theme of my magazine as I feel it would reflect my audience that would be purchasing it. I also love how it is short but holds a strong meaning.

X This is an acronym, I thought of this as a name because the one letter idea is recognisable and successful as it has been for Q. I chose the letter “X” as I think it is quite edgy, it also could be interpreted as extra, which is effective as I want my magazine to give my audience extra.

StrumThis is a connotative word, this represents the sound a guitar makes when played, and this is also onomatopoeia. I think this name is good as it is short making it remember-able. In addition it doesn’t relate directly to my magazine genre so this isn’t one of my main considerations.
