Visitors to the Museum from now until the end of June can enter a competition to name our penguin. The taximdermy specimen is of a King Penguin, native to Antartica and has just gone back on display following recent conservation work. The winner will receive their own penguin toy to take home. Why not come along to the Museum, have a look at our new displays and join in the competition We will be staying in our beautiful Victorian building in Foregate Street when the Library moves to the Hive. There will be plenty to see and do for all the family, immerse yourself in our wonderful exhibitions, relax in the tranquil surroundings of the Little Ginger Pig cafe, or visit the new Museum Gallery where you can try your hand at Fossil rubbing, creating a museum label or just dressing up in one of the costumes we have especially for you. Opening times: Tuesday – Saturday 10.30am – 4.30pm The Art Gallery & Museum is closed on Monday 4th June. FREE Admission Tuesday 5th June Victorian Tales, Discoveries and Curios 11.00am – 4.00pm For all the Family – free admission Join us to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and step back in time to Queen Victoria’s Worcester! Be welcomed by P. Harding, Esquire (from Discover History) – the notable Victorian Antiquarian and Explorer. Harding will entrance you with tales from his travels and discoveries from far off lands. He will introduce you to artefacts and curios that will utterly amaze... Tours: 11.30am, 2.00pm and 3.00pm Contact the Gallery to book your place

Worcestershire Soldier Galleries11am daily, approximately 40 minute tourThese galleries bring to life 300 years of militaryhistory in Worcestershire. The museumcollections of the Worcestershire Regiment and theWorcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry are independentlycurated, and these tours will give a special insight intotheir stories.

Museum basement store2pm daily, approximately 40 minute tourWorcester City Museum has been collecting the Natural History ofWorcestershire and beyond since 1833. The atmospheric tightly-packedstores give a fascinating insight into the history of the area and the challengesthe museum has preserving it in the historic building. Led by the CollectionsOfficer who has over 40 years experience of working with the collection.

Library space history and future3pm daily, approximately 20 minute tourWorcester Library has been an integral part of the museum building since1896, but closes on June 2 to move to the new Hive library. Join this tour toremember its place in the city’s memories and find out what’s next for thespace.
