Symbol Guide

ASTERISKS: * to* means that the steps following the asterisk are to be repeated in order the number of times indicated.

Example *(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc); ch-1, skip 2 sts; [(dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, ch 1, sk 3 sts] twice; (dc, ch 1, dc), ch 1, sk 2 sts*; REPEAT FROM * to * THREE MORE TIMES

PARENTHESIS: ( ) indicates a group of sts that are to be worked together in the same st. Example: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc)

BRACKETS: [ ] Work the sts between the brackets the number of times indicated. Example: [(dc, ch 1 dc) in next st), ch 1, sk 3 sts] twice

COUNT TOTALS: Chain are included in the stitch count; corner spaces are not included in the total. (x total sts/y per side) Example: (100 total/25 per side)

Round-by-round pictures are at the end of the written pattern. They should clarify difficult stitches and rounds. You probably noticed all the ends in my pictures. I have a confession to make - I do not weave in my ends until I’m finished. I make too many silly errors. If you usually weave in ends, go ahead, it will not affect future rounds.

ALL ROUNDS BEGIN WITH A STANDING STITCH AND END WITH AN INVISIBLE JOIN UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

FINISHING

I recommend blocking this square. Blocking allows you to reach your final shape and size. It also opens up your

stitches, making them even and more defined; giving it a more professional appearance. You can either wet block or

steam block, but always make sure you are careful when steam blocking acrylic yarn.
