Welcome to the 2012 Mackenzie Red Angus Bull Sale. Weonce again would like to welcome our friend Don Heggie with his of-fering of Simmental Bulls. In September of 1962 on behalf of the Mackenzie Family, Rodand Don Mackenzie attended the Beckton Stock Farm Sale inSheridan Wyoming. While attending the sale they purchased whatwould become the first ever registered Red Angus Cattle inCanada. 2012 marks 50 years that the Mackenzie Family has beenin the Red Angus business. This is also a 50 year milestone sinceRed Angus has been influencing the Beef Industry in Canada. Thank you to all who have offered their continued support overthe years to make our operation and the breed what it is today. Wevalue the friendships that we have made and continue to build whilebeing associated with the Red Angus Breed. The fall of 2011 and thus far in 2012 has been a year for therecord books. A short supply of live cattle and improving demandfor beef has led to never seen before market conditions. The indus-try is about to start an expansion phase as females are alreadybeing retained as replacements. Consider Red Angus to breed tothese females as well as your mature cows as you can alwayscount on calves that are born unassisted and are up nursingquickly. This will in turn offer a live calf that takes little labour andallow females to rebreed quickly and in the long run net large returns. The bulls have come through a relatively mild winter and areawaiting your appraisal. We have and continue to use breed lead-ing AI sires as well as an impressive line up of Herd Sires walkingour pastures. We are still focused on Calving Ease as well as per-formance in our sire selection, with easy fleshing females that canmaintain their body condition with minimal added inputs. Please join us March 17th at Southern Alberta Livestock Ex-change in Fort Macleod for some Red Angus Hospitality as we cele-brate our 50th year in the Red Angus Business. The bulls can be evaluated in pens 66 & 67 at Claresholm BeefProducers just south of Claresholm on Highway #2 up until March15 at which time they will be transported to Southern Alberta Live-stock Exchange in Fort Macleod and available on site for viewing.

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at FortMacleod, Alta. The right of property shall not pass until settlement is made.All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle willbe released.

BIDS - Every animal entering the sale ring will be sold to the highest bidderA floor price will apply to each animal consigned.

DISPUTES - In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the partiesinvolved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whomthe auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such mat-ters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISk - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser assoon as sold.

ANNOUNCEMENTS - Errors discovered in the catalogue will be correctedby announcements from the Auction Stand at sale time and such correctionswill take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A certificate of registry duly transferred willbe furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement is made.

SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, butno risk is assumed by the Fort Macleod Auction Market Ltd., or the seller. Ex-penses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are re-quested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement. Anyadditional expenses are the responsibility of the buyer, including duty, bro-kerage fees, etc.

BREEDER’S GUARANTEE - Mackenzie Red Angus have done everythingpossible to assure you, the buyer, that every bull in this sale will be a breeder.A certified veterinarian will have semen tested and physically evaluated everybull. In the unlikely event of a dispute, regular terms & conditions standardwith the Canadian Angus Association shall apply.

RETAINED INTERESTS - Mackenzie Red Angus reserves the right to collect“Owners Use” semen from any bull in this sale at our expense and the buyer’sconvenience.
