December 1, 2010 Ms. Iliana Nikolic Mr. Aaron Kaufman Troublemaker Productions 3, L.P. 4900 Old Manor Road Austin, TX 78723 Dear Ms. Nikolic and Mr. Kaufman, Based on the final review of content, the feature MACHETE does not qualify for a grant from the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program. The authority for this determination is based on Texas Government Code §485.022(e), which reads in part, “The office is not required to act on any grant application and may deny an application because of inappropriate content or content that portrays Texas or Texans in a negative fashion, as determined by the office, in a moving image project.” While this project did not qualify for a grant, this determination does not affect other Incentive Program grant applications from Troublemaker, now or in the future.
