ABOUT MACGREGOR INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIESSince inception in 1985 as MacGregor Supplies, Inverness based MacGregor Industrial Supplies Ltd provides a quality, cost-effective and value added service to industry in Scotland. MacGregor Industrial Supplies (MIS, MacGregor Supplies, MacGregors), focused initially on the emerging North Sea oil services market, today supplies industrial products via four locations to industry across Scotland and beyond.

Pneumatics, Cutting Tools and Metalworking, Material Handling and Storage,

Whilst we sell some of the leading Industrial brands and a literally a huge range

of products, of equal importance is the people at MacGregors. In core Highlands

& Islands Industries such as Construction, Engineering, Food & Drink and the

Public Sector - we have decades of knowledge and experience.

At our locations, in our warehouses, on the phone in our offi ces or out on the

road with one of our many sales representitives, we’re always ready to meet

customer needs.

Locations

MacGregors currently has four locations, centered in the North of Scotland.

Inverness, Capital of the Highlands and Islands, Stornoway, Western Isles,

Portree, Skye and Elgin.

Our Inverness location is both our headquarters and largest location. Here,

customers can literally touch and feel almost every product we sell. Our other

locations serve local customers whilst benefi tting from our customer service and

warehousing in Inverness.

Our existing customers know that each MacGregors branch is an effi cient, local

source for a vast range of industrial supplies.

We believe our core strengths at our locations - 100% focused on meeting local

customers’ supply needs, backed by a wholly owned transportation fl eet and

sourcing - offers a comprehensive service to the Highland region and beyond.

Detailed Reporting

MacGregors offer a broad range of standard and customized reports to provide

visibility into usage patterns and spend by location, product family, etc. We

literally handle our customer’s supply chain needs; allowing them to focus 100%

on running their business.

Our people and systems are designed around making buying products and

services easier for local businesses and industry.

Local Distribution and Network

Our main distribution centre in Inverness enables MacGregors to have total

control over its supply channel. Usage is tracked locally, enabling branches to

tailor their inventories to anticipate local demand.

Products that aren’t already stocked in-branch can be delivered within 24 hours

within the MacGregor Industrial Supplies delivery network across the North of

Scotland.

the ability to deliver goods nationally for areas outwith our own transport.

MacGregors is built around customer service – vital in an area the size of the

Highlands of Scotland, the UK’s largest region by area.

MacGregors offers full guarantees and service plans on many products sold

within branches not to mention servicing facilities at each MacGregor Industrial

Supplies location. Our resources and dedication to all elements of customer

service; from before, during and after a sale, differentiates us in the marketplace.

A Broad, Deep Product Mix

MacGregors sells thousands of Industrial products spanning around 15 product

lines. This extensive inventory can be quickly transferred from the company’s

main distribution warehouse to local branches and on-site locations to ensure

the product you need is there when you need it.

As we’ve done since day one, we can source the products you need should we

not have it at any one of our branches or warehousing.

We stock and sell so many products to allow customers to focus on their own

business needs. Whilst we don’t stock every Industrial product, we endeavour to

source the products our customers require in any case.

Inventory Management

MacGregors manage more inventory supply systems than any other industrial

supplies distributor in the North of Scotland. Custom solutions include bin-

stocking programs, Kanban systems and fully managed on-site locations.

Our inventory management service is perfect for customers who require product

on a regular basis, particularly with regards to repeat purchases. .

Quality Assurance

Quality is a core part of MacGregors; through our various accreditations and

qualifi cations, we aim to continue to build our business around this theme. We

aim to achieve quality via our ISO 9001/14001, British Safety Industy Federation,

Hire Association Europe memberships and our own internal programs.

Construction

The construction division is another MacGregors success story, with the introduction

of Keith Bremner (ex Hilti) and his team of three external representatives, it has

grown from strength to strength. The team are comfortable in dealing with all sizes of

business from civil construction to house building, and all sizes from one man to multi-

national. Our twice weekly delivery services to all parts of the Highlands and Islands

ensures timely deliveries from our vast stock range.

Equipment Hire

Breathing apparatus, escape kits and stretchers are items people generally

associate with the emergency services not an industrial supplier. But the

addition of these products to MacGregors Equipment Hire division underlines

the company’s drive to ensure its clients are kept at the forefront of their

industries with the very latest in health and safety gear, however hazardous

the conditions be it offshore, confi ned spaces or tunnels. And not only do the

Hire team supply these products, they can also calibrate safety gas monitors

in-house which ensures the customer is fully equipped to the highest level as

quickly and as effi ciently as possible.

The Equipment Hire division has been an integral part of the MacGregors business for

fourteen years. The department has expanded rapidly and now services hire contracts

as far afi eld as Ghana, Russia and Brazil.

Forest & Groundcare

MacGregor Forest And Groundcare Division caters for both ends of the

Whether it is a small touch-up job or a full re-spray, as the sole independent refi nishing

company in the Highlands, MacGregors can cope with any individual’s requirements.

Customers have the luxury of choosing from the 10,000-plus colours available and if

it is not there - the computer service can quickly access almost any tint or shade. And

as well as a complete refi nishing range, MacGregors also stock a wide range of garage

Industrial & Hydraulic Hose

The Industrial And Hydraulic Hose provides ‘off the shelf’ solutions to many customers

throughout the Highlands & Islands of Scotland. Specialist products held for industries

from Aquaculture to Engineering, Offshore to Distilling and many more. With ½

million pounds of stock, customers can benefi t from same-day delivery. In-house

manufacturing allows customers to have fi ttings made to their own specifi cations, along

with the capability to swage & pressure test hoses up to 6”.

Ironmongery

Ironmongery and Fixings is one of the most recent additions to the MacGregor

Industrial Supplies family. Launching with traditional Ironmonger before moving into

Architectural Ironmongery offering specifi cation and master key service.

Oils, Lubricants & Spill Control

Building on our acquisition of Highland Lubricants, this department grows from strength

to strength. We are now Highland distributors of Shell and Q8 oils and greases along

with Petro Canada’s range of food associated products.

Saw & Tool Sharpening

MacGregor Industrial Supplies bought the assets of Industrial Saw Services of Muir of

Ord in 2009. The business and staff were relocated to 7 Harbour Road and integrated

with our Forest and Groundcare Department. The acquisition gave saw and tool

sharpening a new focus and already there has been substantial investment in new

machinery.

Service, Calibration and Repair

Key to MacGregor’s success and growth has been its aftercare and repair

service. On hand is a team of experienced technicians offering support with pre-

delivery inspections, installation, routine maintenance, breakdown and warranty

repairs serving a diverse client base. Calibration and certifi cation can be carried out

on specialized products such as gas monitors, construction levelling apparatus and

metering equipment.

Welding Equipment & Consumables

Welding plant stocked on the premises includes Lincoln, Esab/Murex, Thermadyne and

Kemppi, and cover manual metal arc, Mig and Tig welding. Hypertherm, the market

leaders in Plasma cutting equipment, is also stocked. All machines sold are given a Pre-

Delivery Inspection, warranty is covered by MacGregors in-house approved technicians,

and calibration of equipment.

Workwear & Footwear

Corporate clothing contracts now represent a signifi cant part of the MIS portfolio

of business within the workwear department. As well as supplying the clothing,

MacGregors also offer a logo service where employee names, departments, and titles

can be printed or embroidered on workwear.
