What: “How Clean is Your Air?” Seminar

When: 19 January, 2013 (6pm-8pm)

Where: Central Branch, Hamilton Public Library (55 York Blvd.)

Air samples were taken in 11 neighbourhoods to study the levels of five air pollutants. Results of this study will be presented by Dr. Denis Corr of Rotek Environmental Inc, and Green Venture. All are welcome, however space is limited so it is advised to pre-register.

A program designed to help make events waste free. The program can benefit YOU in two ways: 1. Environmental 2. Economic

This program only accrues a small fee for dishwashing costs.

We have a large selection of dishes and cutlery that can be rented out for anything from large events to small meetings.

“Burlington company fined for dumping oil in Stoney Creek”

Oops! A diesel company located in Burlington are being fined $120,000 for illegally dumping oil sludge in Stoney Creek.

“ “Polluters should be aware that the ministry’s Investigations and Enforcement Branch will vigorously pursue charges when our environmental laws are broken,” Environment Minister Jim Bradley said in a statement. “

“A long-standing vision to protect and connect more than 2,500 hectares of natural land between Cootes Paradise and the escarpment has coalesced into a formal proposal for a “Dundas EcoPark.””

This venture is in need of $ 5 million in order to see the project through and to purchase the land needed to create the EcoPark. Fundraising has begun, with the City of Hamilton pledging $15,000, and McMaster volunteering expertise and student support.

Help support the creation of the Dundas EcoPark, an essential protected area, right in our backyard!
