• Six units (for the 5 circuits) have been ordered plus 2 general purpose spares

• Dipole retains white circuit• New chokes for quad resonance circuits have been ordered

• Manufacturing schedule has slipped, so:• One unit (sextupole) is here and has been connected• Tunnel has been closed to allow technical tests (albeit at low load

current)

• Three regulation loops, current, voltage, field• Biased cosine set point tables for both I and V• How will the DSP management perform, questions of synchronous

data acquisition etc

• Desy-II is just a work horse, can accelerate a single bunch with up to 1.3*1010 particles

• Programmable hardware exists ( “Zyklusgenerator”, LTG) • Top-up to Petra has been demonstrated• Injection to Doris using a 6GeV magnet cycle has been

demonstrated

• The existing linac gun allowed positron accumulation of 50 mA in 48 Petra-II bunches in < 3 minutes at 3 Hz

• Doris was refilled using 3*109 positrons per bunch at 6 Hz in under 1 minute

Future Operation in “Top-up” Mode
