Scalability
Infrastructure: Responsibility for IT infrastructure shifted
to Deltek
– Deltek ensures hardware in place to scale with growth
Resourcing: Reduces need to expand ICF’s internal
Maconomy support team, through Deltek performing:
– version upgrades, allowing internal support teams to focus on
requirements, testing and change management
– hardware planning, purchasing and installation
Why? Maconomy Cloud
ICF proprietary and confidential. Do not copy, distribute, or disclose.

Activities to be done in 2020:
• ICF Roadmap is to continue to upgrade Mac and it’s core products when available and needed
• i-Access will be rolled out to the business for use in Q3 2020
Outcome expected:• This will allow expansion of
Maconomy Userbase with
a the use of a web browser
interface.
• Upgrading products will
mean we are using the
latest tech.
Benefits Obtained:
Business is using the latest
Deltek Products.
Cost saving strategy kicked
off.
Roadmap agreed with Deltek
for future upgrades to ensure
latest releases are being
used by the business.
People Planner integrated
within Maconomy allowing it
be wider used by business.
Business Objects has larger
reporting capabilities and
allowed us to revisit current
universe set up
New Functionality
Phase
II
Activities:
Workshops held with all business workstreams to current pain points
Successfully prioritized needs of the business against what features were available in Maconomy vs what would req. customization
New functionalities:
Subcontractor Overhead*
Email Alerts (PO Approver)*
Vendor Remittance
Project Report Scheduling
Credit Control
Job Forex
* Customizations
Outcome: New functionalities rolled out Pain points mapped out against
future Deltek releases
Benefits Obtained:
Business becomes further
engaged to Maconomy
Helps influence change for
future migrations to
Maconomy that ICF have
planned in their roadmap
Automates a lot of manual
processes that will save time
in the future

experiences

Think About - Data & Environments
Environments: On the Cloud you will typically have
three environments (Dev, Test and Prod) – need to follow Deltek Process to deploy changes, will lose
flexibility/immediacy making changes in production environment
– Deltek Cloud Ops responsible for deployments via tickets
Hosting: Data is hosted in the Republic of Ireland
(AWS)
Database: SQL, not Oracle – conversion required
ICF proprietary and confidential. Do not copy, distribute, or disclose.
Think About - SLA’s
Align Expectations: Work early with your internal CIT and Procurement teams
SLA’s could include:– Availability & Downtime – Chronic Failure – Performance – Disaster Recovery
‘Urgent’ requests (reporting changes or customisations) no longer resolved ‘immediately’ – again, expectations just need to be clearly defined and managed
ICF proprietary and confidential. Do not copy, distribute, or disclose.
Think About - Accounting
Service Fees: Annual service costs may no longer be capitalizable and will be a cost included in EBITDA – On-Prem licenses, typically capitalized/amortized
– Potential impact on profitability metrics/bank covenants
Upgrade Costs: costs related to build activities (e.g. Business Objects Upgrade, Oracle to SQL conversion etc.) may be capitalizable as per US GAAP ASC350-40– testing, training and holding workshops and discussions with
Deltek on future state are not typically capitalizable
You should of course consult your internal financial teams about the specific accounting rules and policies applicable to your organization
ICF proprietary and confidential. Do not copy, distribute, or disclose.
Think About - Programmatic Planning
Upgrade Timings:
– Expected upgrade every 18 months
– Cannot be more than 1 version behind
– Some degree of flexibility but within certain limits
Consider impacts on longer term transformation
programs:
– work with your PMO / Financial Transformation Office on
timing and impacts

Our Experience - So Far…
Flexibility v Control: period of adjustment but now ok
Speed: performance improved vs On-Prem
Downtime: communicated in advance and related
maintenance performed over weekends
Response times: Cloud enterprise tickets generally
processed much quicker than the 48 hours SLAs
SLA Compensation: promptly received for a Business
Objects downtime (no other claims have been needed since)
