02/07/2006Diagnostic Gas Valve - GIM14
Important features:
Single point gas injection, octant 5, in LBSRP – not toroidally uniform
Gas bottle in Torus Hall, with preset pressure (presently 1280mbar)
(Relatively) non-perturbing to the plasma
Viewed with a KS3 telescope.

Use of GIM14GIM14 is not a piezo valve! It is pneumatic, and has a slow time response
It is controlled by an ‘ON time’, and ‘OFF time’, and time windowMinimum 1.5s ON is recommended (even so, first cycle just pressurises the line)
Offline tests:
First pulse = no gas
Other pulses, longTime delays.
