According to the church-year it is the last Sunday before Lent, so the last Sunday in Carnival. But that doesn't mean that that all joy will be over with Ash Wednesday. Jesus has called his disciples for a happy fasting:'Moreover when you fast, don't be, as the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most assuredly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face, that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, (Matth. 6:16-18)Fasting is a spiritual practice, wherein much is possible but not coercion from outside.I think it is worth to think about, what I can win through which practice of fasting.

Already an announcement: the then next worship service in April we would like to celebrate as a Departure Service. About half of the staff serving in the German Embassy will be transferred to new places. Wouldn't it be nice opportunity to bid them farewell with God's blessing?
