4.0 Setup Procedure
To set up the Elastix Server for the Elastix LXP200
1. Go to the web address of the Elastix Server Login page. The web address is
determined by the customer, for this guide we have used the IP address
192.168.1.75
2. On the Login page, type the username and password for an administrative user into
the Username and Password fields, see Figure 4-1. The username and password are
determined by the customer.

3. Press Enter or click on the Submit button to go to Elastix‟s Dashboard
4. Once inside, click on the PBX tab on the menu at the top of the screen

5. Click on the Submit button to add an extension, see Figure 4-3. This will take you
to the Add SIP Extension page.

6. On the Add SIP Extension page (Figure 4-4), fill in the following information:
• User Extension (301 in this example)
• Display Name („LXP200Phone‟ in this example)
• secret („h7Dka3Rf9si0t‟ in this example)

7. Click on “Submit” button at the end of the page, and you will see a similar page on
Figure 4-5 displaying the “Apply Configuration Changes Here” pink ribbon on top
of the screen. Click on there to apply changes.

8. With this you have just finished creating a SIP extension that will be used by the
Elastix LXP200 to register with the Elastix Server. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 to
similarly create another extension (different values on Step 6) to be used by the IP
(SIP) Phone to register as well (extension 302 in this example). Once you finished
you will see something similar to Figure 4-6.

9. You will need to enter the information from the extension created on the Elastix
Server into the LXP200 Phone. Connect the LXP200 phone to the same network
than Elastix Server.
The default values configured on the phone are:
Factory default settings
IP Addressing DHCP
Web Access Password admin
When the phone obtains an IP Address from your DHCP server, it is shown on the
main screen of the phone. If you don‟t have a DHCP server and you want to set
static IP addressing you must do the following:
From the phone, press Menu => Network => IP Setting => Static IP.
Menu button is the one which is located in the middle of the arrow buttons.

Now set the values for connecting to the network. When you finish, select Back
option and you will be asked for rebooting. Select YES.
To register the Elastix Phone there are two methods: Manual Configuration and
AutoProvisioning using Elastix’s Endpoint Configurator.

MANUAL CONFIGURATION
1. Log in to the Elastix LXP200 WebUI by pointing your browser to the Elastix
Phone‟s IP address.
2. When prompted, enter the Web Access Password to accesss to the WebUI (Figure
4-7).

3. Use the information from the Add SIP Extension page (Figure 4-4) to enter the
following necessary information on “Accounts => Account 1” section of the
LXP200 Phone WebUI (Figure 4-8):
Account Active: Yes
Account Name: ElastixPhone
SIP Server: Elastix Server‟s IP Address (192.168.1.75 in this example)
SIP User ID: 301
Authenticate ID: 301
Authenticate Password: („h7Dka3Rf9si0t‟ in this example)

4. Once you have entered the required information, click on „Update‟ button located at
the end of the page.
5. To check the correct registration of the phone, go to “Status” section. You should
see your phone registered (Figure 4-9). If the phone is not registered, make sure
you‟ve entered the correct information.

6. Configure the other IP (SIP) Phone with the correct parameters.
7. To test the Elastix LXP200, pick up the previously configured IP (SIP) Phone and
call the LXP200‟s extension number (301 in this example). When the call is
established, speak into the phone and verify that the other IP (SIP) Phone can hear
your voice. Check this by calling from both ends. This step completes the manual
procedure.

AUTOPROVISIONING USING ELASTIX‟S ENDPOINT
CONFIGURATOR
Note: The support for Endpoint Configurator is available in Elastix 2.4 by installing the
new Endopoint configurator module. This new module is already included in Elastix
2.5.
1. For Elastix 2.4, log in to the console and install the module by entering the
command:
yum -y install elastix-endpointconfig2
2. After installation, in the Elastix Web Interface go to “PBX => Batch Configurations
=> New Endpoint Configurator”. See figure 4-10

3. Type the network address where the phone is located and click on the magnifying
glass. This will generate a list with all the phones available in that network. See
figure 4-11.

4. In the row where the phone you want to autoprovision is located (find it according
to either its MAC or IP Address):
Mark the checkbox
From the drop-down list, select the correct Phone Model if it is not detected
automatically
Click on the link “[Configure x.x.x.x]” to set the parameters to configure the
phone.

5. After clicking in the configuration link, you will see a window with many tabs
according to what you want to configure. In this case we will configure a SIP
account. Go to the tab “Accounts” and drag the accounts you want to assign from
left to right. Then click on Apply button. See figure 4-12.

6. After configuring you will see that the status field of the phone has changed. See
figure 4-13

7. Now with the phones selected, click on the button “Apply Configuration” located
next to the magnifying glass button. A message will be shown saying the operation
was successful. See figure 4-14.

8. Your phone will reboot, and when it boots up it should be registered with Elastix
with the accounts you set. This step completes the procedure.
