BENEDICTINE UNIVERSITY

CENTER FOR LIFELONG LEARNING

Who are we?

In 2011, Benedictine University

launched the Center for Lifelong

Learning (CLL) at the Moser

College of Adult and Professional

Studies. The CLL develops and

maintains a wide range of high

quality educational programs and

experiences for the mature adult,

fostering intellectual exploration

and a sense of community. Our

classes are noncredit. There

are no grades, no papers and

no admission requirements

beyond personal interest.

Our vision:

To create a community of

engaged lifelong learners.

Our mission:

To provide an opportunity for the

mature community to expand

and share their experiences

and talents with others while

developing new knowledge and

building rewarding relationships.

Our values:

Continued knowledge and shared

life experiences are the keys to

personal growth and community

well-being.

Who are our teachers?

Our instructors are experts

in their fields and include

distinguished university faculty

who are both active and retired

community educators and

leaders, and local enthusiasts

with expertise and passion

for their subject areas.

How are classes selected?

Class proposals are collected

and reviewed by the director

and members of the Curriculum

Committee. Students are

encouraged to recommend

classes to the CLL.

What does it cost?

Class registration fees vary

depending on the number of

sessions and length of time.

Some programs are free and

some classes may carry an

additional fee for materials or

costs. Fees are clearly identified

in the class category section.

WANTED: Instructors

Would you or someone you know be interested in teaching

a class? How about an idea for a class? If you said “yes”

to either of those questions, please let us know. Contact

Ron Finnigan, director, at (630) 829-1383 or [email protected].

We value your ideas and support. Our best ideas for classes come

from our students.
