The ground floor is owners property and is separated from the rest of the villa, which they let.

First floor: wide kitchen in Carrara marble (gas stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher,

refrigerator, freezer, iron), lounge (satellite TV, DVD player), dining room, bedroom, bathroom

with shower. Large panoramic terrace.

Second floor: 2 double bedrooms, twin bedded room, 2 baby beds, bathroom with tub.

All rooms have large windows that overlook the garden and the valley.

This luxury Lucchese villa welcomes up to 8 guests.

The first floor consists of an entrance hall with Art Nouveau frescoes, a studio, a kitchen, a

bathroom, a bedroom, and two lounges.

On the second floor there are three bedrooms and one bathroom. On the second floor there is a

second balcony, smaller but even brighter than the one on the floor below. You walk to it through a

large French window illuminating the spacious hall, having the same size like the one of the first

floor. The stair, consisting of 60 more steps, leads you to the tower, which occupies the right side of

the house. The highest part of the tower consists of a veranda with its many windows in iron andglass, inside which a spiral staircase goes up to the terrace. The garden surrounding the house on

three sides covers about 1500 square meters, and the same size is the section of the park on the back

of the house, planted with olive trees. In the western part of the park, among olive trees, lies a sunlit

swimming pool.

History of the villa

The origins of the villa are very remote. It is dated back to the year 864 AD.

Situated atop of a hill at about 200mt on the sea level, the villa overlooks Lucca and is

surrounded by the Pizzorne mountains (about 900mt.) to the east and by the PisanMountains to the west. The villa is protected from the cold winds coming down fromthe valley of the Serchio river (the beautiful valley known as Garfagnana, north ofLucca), while on the south the view extends for many miles over Lucca, Marlia,Altopascio and Montecarlo.

Chorographic papers from the early nineteenth century included the villa among thepossessions of the Marquis Mansi, one of the richest and most powerful families ofLucca not only at that time, but also many years later. The beauty of the place, itsbrightness and the splendid views prompted a Lucchese family of goldsmiths (SilvioCagnacci and his wife, Rosa Minucciani) to buy the estate and, from 1928 to 1933, tobuild a Liberty style villa there.
