We offer a diverse selection of Small Group Tours and a larger selection of Private Tours. There are two levels

of travel, Upscale and Luxury, available on all our private travel packages. Our small group tours are offered at

both levels on the Indian subcontinent, and at our Upscale Level in Southeast Asia.

The travel itineraries and associated experiences are the same at both levels; the difference is in the hotels and

resorts. Luxury and Upscale Level small group tours, when both are offered, operate independently of each

other.

How can you tell when your tour operator is not an upscale or luxury agency? Answer - when they mention

the words ‘5 star hotels’. In Asia, the same city can have a 5 star (a comfortable business hotel located in a

commercial area, far from everything) that costs $70 a night, to another 5 star hotel that costs $1500 a night,

and is one of the finest hotels on the planet.

A star rating in Asia has very little to do with the quality of the hotel. It is achieved by factors such as the

minimum number of rooms, a large swimming pool, two food outlets, in-room dining availability, and so on.

A 5 star rating is the highest official rating there is.

Our Upscale Level hotels are far superior to what most tour operators use. They include heritage mansions,

historic hotels, upscale palaces, and boutique resorts. A quick look at any of the major hotel review sites will

International Travel to Asia

Easy Tours’ philosophy of valuing our guests’ time is best manifested in how we approach travel between destinations during your

time with us. We look for the most convenient and fastest way to get from one place to another, which is often a flight on quality

airlines for long journeys, or road travel for shorter distances.

This philosophy changes when an alternative journey includes unique cultural experiences, archeological wonders, amazing

scenery, or a combination of these elements, while still allowing for a comfortable travel experience. We may then recommend a

river cruise or a train ride, although the latter is very uncommon due to sanitation and hygiene issues on most trains in Asia.

We are fanatical about staying on top of all changes in travel infrastructure, which is always ongoing in the fast developing Indian

subcontinent and in Southeast Asia. New faster highways are constantly becoming available and new nonstop flights and other

options are introduced every month. We evaluate these new options, and if they can enhance our guests’ experience, we make

changes to our tours accordingly.

We often have people tell us that they have done game safaris in Africa and so

they don’t feel the need to do so in India. Please be aware that viewing wildlife

in Africa is nothing like a safari in India. Africa is sub-Saharan while India is the

thick, lush jungle that Kipling wrote about, and the experiences are completely

different.

We also hear from people that they have read or heard that big cat sightings

are very uncommon on safaris in India. We have tracked our guest’s sighting for

over a dozen years, and well over 80% of our guests get tiger sightings on their

tour in any tiger park that we offer, with many getting multiple sightings. Please

bear in mind that those that don’t get sightings are the most vociferous, on the

web, and otherwise.

India has over 500 National Parks and sanctuaries where its wildlife is protected.

Only a few of these parks offer the best opportunities for sightings of the more

elusive cats such as tigers and leopards. Our selection of wildlife tours takes our

guests through these parks.

photograph nilgai antelope and chinkara gazelles as well as many carnivores such as tiger, leopard, sloth bear, jackle, Bengal fox, ruddy

mongoose and palm civet. Bandhavgarh also had rhesus macaques and langur monkeys. Crossing to Kaziranga National Park in Assam

India, I was able to photograph many large mammals such as Indian rhino, Asian elephant, wild water buffalo, and wild hog. The parks

were rich in bird life and I photographed three species of hornbill in India. All the parks had a variety of flowers, butterflies and natural

Culinary ToursThe Indian cuisine served by 98% of Indian restaurants in North America actually

belongs to just one region of India. It is the most popular cuisine in North India, but

there are many more culinary styles that are unique and delectable found in other

parts of North and South India.

Local cuisines were developed over many millennia due to a variety of reasons, most of

which are being emulated in the world’s finest establishments today. Sourcing locally

for freshness was key, as was the geographical location. Grains, vegetables, legumes/

beans and spices that are used in the high altitude regions of the Himalaya’s actually

assist you in coping with the lower oxygen found there. In North India there are

seasonal dishes that help the body to deal with the extreme heat of summer or winters

cold. India’s coastal regions have unique seafood and other options that have evolved

over centuries of input from various European and Far Eastern influences.

No restaurant outside of India can match the flavors that are produced in India’s best

kitchens, which, unlike North America, are sometimes located in the hotels we use on

our tours. This is evidenced by the fact that the well-off locals frequent the restaurants

at these hotels on a regular basis.

Our Culinary Tours will include a mix of famous local restaurants specializing in local

cuisine at each destination, and opportunities to dine at your hotel, where you may

choose to enjoy great western fare if you feel like it.

LUXURY TRAINS IN INDIA

Easy Tours offers our guests the ability to reserve a seamless experience when they book

a luxury train journey with us. You are received at the international airport and provided

lodging, guidance and transportation before and after your train journey, depending on

your individual preferences. Many of our guests also choose to reserve pre and/or post

land tours.

Up until the nation’s independence in 1947, India’s royalty traveled on trains whose

compartments had been retrofitted with extremely luxurious accoutrements befitting

the passengers’ status.

The ultra-luxury train compartments are now parked in various places, including some in

Delhi’s fascinating Rail Museum. These inspired Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism to

come up with the idea of a luxury tourism train that visited some of North India’s premier

attractions.

The Palace on Wheels was inaugurated in 1982, and soon won many international awards

and worldwide recognition. Other luxury trains have been launched in the past few

decades, providing rail enthusiasts more options in covering different attractions and

Because Nepal is the ultimate adventure destination, its amazing cultural and historical

attractions sometimes do not receive the recognition that they deserve. Nepal’s

history was heavily influenced by settlers from India and Tibet, and it goes back many

millennia. There are amazing Hindu and Buddhist monuments spread throughout the

Kathmandu valley and elsewhere.

Only in Nepal do you find Hindu and Buddhist houses of worship located right next to

each other, with Buddhist monks praying in the temple, and Hindu priests paying their

respects in the pagoda.

Nepal offers incredible trekking opportunities ranging from moderate to extreme;

what they all have in common is amazing scenery and warm locals. White water rafting

on gushing streams fed by Himalayan glaciers is a delight in the summer, with varying

Although present day Cambodians appear to live in a quiet agrarian society,

their ancestors were some of the most powerful and advanced people of their

time. This land was home to the prolific and highly influential Khmer civilization,

and the archaeological treasures they left behind are vast.

Spread across the entire country is the well preserved infrastructure of these

ancient builders; roads, temples, bridges, and dams are all clear evidence of a

highly developed civilization.

The pinnacle of these achievements can be found in the vast ancient city of

Angkor Thom near modern day Siem Reap. The most famous of these is the

iconic temple complex of Angkor Wat. The scale of the temples and monuments

is simply staggering, as in its day, Angkor Thom was twice the size of Manhattan.

Laos is sometimes forgotten by visitors to Southeast Asia, probably because it

has no beaches or large cities. This is a mistake, for it is one of the most serene,

unspoiled and beautiful countries on Earth, and the peaceful yet colorful

Buddhist culture is alone worth a visit.

Its landscape is the stuff of dreams; characterized by karst mountains that stand

tall over green valleys and rice fields, and a glistening network of winding rivers.

Other natural wonders like waterfalls and caves are common place with in its

A word fromour founder

At the turn of the century, some American friends and I took

a tour of South Asia with a leading luxury travel company. My

friends trusted me to arrange everything as I am originally

from India, and had already traveled extensively in the region,

including most of Southeast Asia.

The itinerary was rushed, unimaginative, and obviously dated.

It left no time for cultural immersion. It had very early morning

starts, and absurdly long drives, as well as an unsanitary train

journey.

I was so disappointed by the experience that I started working

on a new business plan soon afterwards.

Easy Tours was designed and created to be the exact opposite

of that unpleasant tour. I named it Easy Tours because my goal

was to offer the very best options for all explorers by offering

a diverse selection of itineraries, and by providing the most

passionate local experts at each destination.

I hope you enjoy your travels with us as much as I enjoy my

frequent journeys through South and Southeast Asia.
