Welcome to another issue of the periodical.

In this issue you will find some creative apparel options with some custom tie dye shirts. With all things that go out of style they always return in some form or fashion. Tie-dye is big this year and not just traditional swirls, it’s being used in so many ways. Tie-dye is another application entirely and it can compliment your basic logo or an intricate design.

Camouflage shirts and accessories are always good alternative backgrounds to choose from. Inside we will show you variety of options from classic tees and cargo shorts to survival packs. Whether you’re using it in the woods or downtown, camo is selling again and again and can add an entirely new backdrop for your brand or business designs.

It’s summer so of course baseball shirts are popular; we included a breakdown of some summer color ways. Match those team colors as well as your business logo with an array of color options. Also we have included just some fun facts about shirts and apparel.

The year is moving and we are starting to hit our busy season already. One thing that has been a constant for me since I started screen printing is the music in the shop. From killing screens into the night, to trying to get all our Friday projects out music is there through thick and thin. You have to be open in your music genres because listening to the same things day after day will kill you. Your favorite album may possibley make everyone working at the shop cringe, so having a huge music selection helps out. The shop I started in originally had a tape deck only. We have come a long way, I can’t imagine having to flip cassettes every 20 minutes. Apple has made this part of the job easier. Even better now are apps like Spotify and Pandora.

Also it’s the crew who contributes to the everyday play lists. All the new music I have picked up is from hearing something new at the shop. Back in the day Evan brought in a metal band with a parrot for the lead singer, Lou left us with hundreds of CD’s in which I still find new stuff, Gnardo introduced us to Randy Macho Man Savage’s rap career and Marshall would bring in a new playlist every night with soundtracks and comedy albums when we worked here a few years ago. The album with the most plays has to be Band of Horses original album, which probably was played at least once a day for a good year and a half and continues to be a good album to put on. The king of the shop would have to be Neil Diamond though. With over a day of content Neil will always shine the brightest and continually turn even the toughest day at the shop into a hot August night.

Sometimes theres a limit to what everyone can bare and we do from time to time impose stereo bans. This can mean a certain artist will get cut off until enough time has passed to where everyone wants to hear it again. It happens to the best of them. Guns and Roses, Credence Clearwater Revival, the Streets and even 2pac have been some of the banned artists because of overplaying. Never will be a Biggie ban though.

Music can make the theme of the day and help get through those tough ones. Metal Friday was our first theme. Great but we didn’t update the selection. Top Gun Friday lasted a while, we played the Top Gun soundtrack every Friday for a couple months. Dave brought that idea from a shop he worked at in Boise. They have done it for 5 years and running still. Danger Zone always works, kind of like the Rocky theme but when you hit “Take My Breath Away” it can change the mood of the entire shop. When pro-duction goes down we must move on. It lasted here for about 5 months. When Michael Jackson passed away we made a 4-hour playlist to remember his life. Unfortunately this week we had to remember both Slayer when their guitarist passed away and Kris Kross. I will say Kris Kross Pandora is a great station to pass some time.

So I hope all of you have your music going and are getting ready for a busy summer. I’m going to put on Lou’s Country Classics (A gift that keeps on giving, and I never thought I would be so into county). Enjoy the warmer weather,

Eric Green
